I know!!! I remember having b-days and other occasions in our yard too!! I have such great memories of my parties. What I don't seem to get it is the big one year old b-days. Maybe, it's because I am not a mother.. I don't know. But, I can't see having a big bash for my child's first birthday... I'll def. have a party but it won't be at Russo's on the bay!!

Don't laugh too hard I just got one for a christining at Towers on the Green. This baby's older sis had her there about a year ago. 7piece band, coctail hour, sit down dinner, cant forget the Vienese hour, dancing, favors of chocolate lolipops, pencils engraved with her name, memo pads, the centerpieces were LLAdro figurines. They had a sign in board which was a blown up pic of the baby and every one was in gowns it was black tie opt. The baby was about 12 mths old.
Could you imagine... This one is going to be a little calmer since there was a recent death in the family they arn't going to have the band or music just food. I need to buy another gown now since I wore my wedding uniform to the last one.:![]()
Whoa! I had a cake and sandwiches for all of my parties. What is going on with some of these parties??? I went to one Terrace on the Park and I swore the little girl was getting married. Sweet 16's are getting out of control as well. Some of them resemble weddings way too much these days.
This has nothing to do with $$$, but I feel stupid cause my little cousin had her HS prom a few years back at Chateau Briand!

Just have to be the devil's adocate here. In hispanic culture the quinceneira or sweet 15 is supposed to resemble a ball or wedding. Complete with 'Damas' or bridesmaids and ushers. It is the introduction a young girl becoming a woman and looking for her suitor from what is supposed to be a gathering of men to offer what they can to her father. I was stuck being a dama for a couple of parties. I asked my parents if we could skip this and instead have a party. They happily obliged!!!

Honestly it is all about out doing the Jones'. If one person has soemthing the next has to out do them with something bigger and better. All my parties were at my house. If you see the gowns that my mother fixes for sweet 16's and Bat Mitvah's you would die. Some of these dresses are costing more than my wedding gown.![]()
