This is probably dumb.. guests attire????

I can't decide.. I know this isn't a very hard decision, but I am having difficulty. I can't decide if I want the attire for our wedding to be:
Black tie,black tie optional, etc..
what is everyonelse doing?? thanks

Hey babe.. YEP.. a lot of people did.. it was cool because we got rave reviews for putting that on the invite and alot of people told us that they were happy b/c they own their own tuxes and could put them to good use.. =)

I went to a wedding a couple of months ago, and it was Black tie.. Everyone complied.. It was beautiful.. my fh wants to keep it simple. he hates tuxedos. But I think it is so much fun and more appealing when everyone is in gowns and tux's ... JMO.. If we do casual.. it may get too casual.. ??//

we had an ultra formal affair and we wouldn't have settled for any less.. and of course there are those already casual folks, so the black tie preferred was really going out to them lol

It sounds good to me.. I just have to talk FH into it.. He's going to be in a tux anyway..

how would you feel if someone didn't wear a tux...but maybe a dark suit?

if you are ok with that then BT preferred is fine...

If you want everyone in BT...I would put 'Black Tie' whenever we go to weddings that have just BT on the wedding I have never seen anyone not in a tux...

DH secretly likes tuxes...lol...he likes how the vest hides his belly...

One of my BM's wedding was BT preferred, it was beautiful. It was the first time I saw FH in a tux (besides his prom pic ). I didn't really give it any thought for ours but maybe I will now....

I want our wedding to be black tie, but my mother thinks this is too much to ask of our guests(what's new? Everything I suggest she thinks will be a burden to our guests). So we are doing black tie preferred(leaves option for a dark suit.)

Since I am getting married on a Sunday afternoon...I could not do Black Tie. I love the idea of a formal affair with all the guests in Black Tie.

I love this site and have been lurking here for a while!!
Do you think you can have black tie on a Sunday night? My wedding is a holiday weekend , next year on this very night, Oct. 10!!
I LOVE the idea of having guests in really formal attire but am unsure whether its appropriate on a Sunday night (Columbus Day weekend) Also, do you think guests will be annoyed, perhaps, black tie optional? What do you all think? I love this site, everyone is soooo helpful, I've gotten some great ideas!!!!

I am going to a wedding this sunday the 12th, and it's black tie. and its on a sunday.. We think it will be nice... I haven' heard anyone complain.. I think a wedding is supposed to classy and formal. It's a wedding. Not to bring up money but we are spending thousands of dollars to make this day perfect. the least our guests could do is where a tux..
