This is so hard...

My parents were visiting us this week and we had a wonderful time--until I took them to the airport this morning. I fully expected my mom to cry and I knew that I would get at least a little teary. But then my Dad started too!!

It's so hard being so far away...I like being here for right now, but I wish I was closer to home...I'm guess I'm just sad and homesick and I worry about everyone when I can't see them whenever I want.

It must be difficult at times to be on the other side of the pond. I have a very good friend that grew up in NY & moved to Ireland with her husband 8 months after they got married. She had a really tough time of it in the beginning, but when she finally settled into a permanent home, it became much easier for her...not lioke she was a guest.

Now she looks forward to visits from family & friends & she spaces them out so that they almost *always* have company from the states

Its so easy for me to say, and I know it cannot be easy being far from home, but try to hang in there! I'm sure the visit from your parents is still fresh in your mind so its feeling so much worse today.. but it'll get easier too

i know how you feel. I haven't seen my mom since I moved in May and i can't wait to see her. It's hard but this is what I want it, I guess we just have to get use to it. I feel better because when I was 15 I moved from my country to NY, and it was horrible! I guess now that I'm older and went through that, i know better, but it's still hard....

I know how you feel. Whenever, we have visitors from the States, I get so depressed when they leave. It is so hard to say goodbye. I couldn't even go with my parents to the airport when they came over in February. We just met my parents in Paris last weekend and it was so hard to leave. We have been in Ireland for about 10 months and now that I am pregnant, it has really hit me.

I cried when my parents left last month. They were here for a long weekend. I haven't been home to NY since the wedding 4 months ago and I miss my family like crazy.
It is hard being so far away, especially when they all get together and I am 1000 miles away.
I know how you feel.
