This is weird...

This is weird...

Its my very first night ALONE in my house.
DH is away for work and will be home Thursday and then is going away Monday to Fri next week

I went to my parents' house for dinner with Fred and now we are at home staring at each other. I have my basement dorr locked and like every light in the house on.

I DVR'd house so I think Ill watch that and grade some papers.

Who else is on tonight?

Me too...DH just graduated with a pHd and her was never home before that...having a dog was what kept me going.

I can't believe how jumpy I am just because he isnt home. I mean normally he might be out or working late but I think cause I know he isnt going to be home at all it is freaking me out.

i so know how you feel - i am 23 and have never slept home alone!!! my parents just never go away and i still live at home. . . i would be the same exact way!!

Okay that happened to me last week my husband came home and said he was going for a few days last min. buisness trip i stayed alone one night the next night i said okay see ya and went right back to my mothers i was afraid but my mom is so funny she made me put my car in the garage becasue she did not want the neighbors wondering why i was back 'overnight' ugggg she is so ITALIAN!!!!

i get like that...DH absolutely doesn't understand why. i always have. it creeps me out to be home alone sometimes[especially at night] in your favor you have a dog...i have a 5 year old. quite honestly, the dog would make me more secure feeling only b/c people run in fear of an angry dog...and 5 year olds fall asleep by 9!

just keep busy and yes, be a lock 'nut' it will help ease your fears!

Jen, I know exactly how you feel! I use to stay in my parents house all summer long alone & it never bothered me! Now when I know DH will be home late (after midnight) I sit up & watch TV or sit in our computer room & look at the window! It just seems I am so nervous in my own house!!!

Well I did it!!!!

I made it through one night and on to night number two. Shutting everything off was weird cause it was so quiet. Also, I tried to keep my bedroom window open bc it was hot but fred randomly barked at it and I had to get up and shut it LOL

at least Im not alone in being freak!

It's good you have Fred to keep you company!

I was scared the first time FH left me home alone in our new apartment but, he's gone a lot at night so it gets better (except when the people across the hall get into their domestic disputes or the guy upstairs scares me to death because the Mets/Jets/Rangers do something exciting).
