This may be a dumb question, but.....

when you're looking for a florist, what should you ask them? Should you have certain types of flowers in mind so they can quote you a price? Do you need to know what your bouquets and centerpieces will look like? Do they have books that you can look at with pictures so you can pick out ones you like and they quote you a price that way?

We went to the florist unsure of what we wanted too. I brought a swatch of the BM dress with me so they could help us. They were very helpful as far as telling us what they thought would go perfectly with the color BMs dresses. They also had pictures of all different styles of bouques so you could see what you like.

When we looked at florists they did ask us what kind of flowers we wanted. They also needed to know how many of everything we needed in order to get a quote. I wasn't sure what I wanted I only knw what colors I wanted so they showed me pictures.

Annie, it depends on the florist... Somehow, all the florists that I have visited didn't have a ton of pictures and/or ideas. So after the first few not so successful visits (of me asking them to give me ideas on flowers and them not being able to do so), I have resolved to find my own bouquet, down to specifying how many units of each flower to include... I don't know if I was unlucky or too picky. In the end, it worked out well, except I didn't like the quality of the flowers used for my bouquet (but it looks great in pictures, just not in real life).

So, if you want your visits to be short/quick and productive, you may want to determine what kind of flowers you want and in what proportions for your bouqets...

Speaking of flowers.....has anyone found a good web-site for flower ideas with pictures? I know it's probably a good idea to bring pcitures of things you like.
