what is the purpose of engagement pictures? and what are Boudior pictures?

e-pics- for announcements, to celebrate/keepsake, to incorp into the wedding somehow (table numbers, sign in board or whatever, etc).
b-pics- usually as a surprise gift for FH or DH. here are
