This might be a shot in the dark....but

In an effort to provide input FH said he would like black table cloths and red napkins at the RH. so now I'm on a search to find examples so I can see..... Do you think it would look bad to have the black tables?? My dress is Ivory and the girls are in claret red w/champagne sash....and the guys will be in black tux w/ red vest and tie. I just feel bad cause almost everything he suggests I shoot down but I'm thinking maybe this one won't be so bad

My sister had black tablecloths with red napkins! I'll get her to send pics and I'll post them!

I agree with the other girls that the black tables could make the room appear dark and smaller than it is. Maybe an ivory tablecloth with a black runner and other red details, like the napkins. This way he still gets what he wants and it keeps the room light. Kind of similar to the above post.

Not really.... I mean my invites have an ivory cinderella coach heading to the castle on it and the writting is red (we thought it was cute 'cause we are at the Sand Castle) and my favors are glass coasters with words around it (love,faith,etc)

but no real theme I told my sister I'd rather have more of a cinderella themed shower soooo that's where that will come into play

I think it could look really cool and different - the only thing that would concern me is that if your RH room is not enormous, all that dark color could make it look really small. A lot of times they use light colored linens to maximize the appearance of space. If you think that could be a problem, why not suggest ivory table cloths with black squares covering the center, and red napkins?

reading this i don't know if my idea makes sense the way i wrote it - there was a bride on here awhile back who had indian tapestries over her table cloths and put it in her review. a pic of that might help you picture what i'm saying. i can't remember her name but i know the wedding was at a temple.

We have the main Ballroom and it's huge & light walls etc.... and if we ca'nt make our min we might need it to look smaller

I say go for it, my colors are also red and black. I have thought about doing this as well but my RH doesn't have a whole lot of light so it won't work for me.
