this might be silly -- bridal 'dresser'

this might be silly -- bridal 'dresser'

my dress is complicated to get into. my dad is sick and my mom is going to be helping him in addition to getting me dressed, and my maids going to be getting makeup/hair, and yesterday, it was suggested to us that we get in touch with someone who will help get me all into the dress and ready that day, a pro that worked in a shop. It wasn't expensive, and my mom was very into the idea. Only, now I'm not sure the woman is available b/c she's not getting back to me. Does anyone know if another 'dresser' exists, if this is even a thing that people do? I don't mean to sound ridiculous and high maintenance.

Does you RH have a bridal attendant for you? They can help you get into your dress. If you're getting married at a church I'm not really sure. I've never heard of bridal dressers.

My parents hired this for my sister when she got married. They were nervous they wouldn't be able to put the dress on correctly. My sister got her dress at Lillette's and so we used a girl from that store. She charged by the hour, I think it was like around $15 per hour. I would contact wherever you got your dress and see if they have someone to do this for you.

I went to Lilettes, too! that is where I found out you can do it, but the girl can't come to my house on a Saturday :( when the salon is open.

Oh no that stinks! My sister got married on a Saturday and the girl came... it was just a younger girl who wasn't a consultant or anything. This was in 2007. Good Luck finding one!

My MOH does this(lucky me lol!) She worked in a Bridal store for years and always did this on the side. I'll send her a text.

I actually have heard of these. You can ask the people where you got you dress if they have somone or can recommend someone.

Maybe try posting on Vendors Helping Brides. Maybe one of the DOCs can recommend someone.

My friend had that for her wedding. Basically she paid a few hundred bucks to the seamstress to come help out the morning of.

She was really happy she had one. I think if your dress is super complicated its worth considering.

PLUS-45 minutes before the church the zipper on my moms dress broke. My BFF/MOH basically sewed her into the dress, and the seamstress met her in between the church and reception.
It would have came in handy to have her in the morning.

You jus have to decide if you want to spend the money. I've heard its anywhere between 300=500 bucks.

I heard like $40/hour...but I guess we'll see!! I also got some FM from DOC's that do this as part of their job. Not really what I'm looking for but we'll see! Thanks for all your responses, ladies. Hopefully I'll find someone and it will all work out :)
