this might sound wrong..

if you have an older pet, lets say a cat... would you schedule a day you were going to put it down a month before?

a friend of mine has come up with 3 different excuses for not coming to my shower (and my moh and her family is NOT happy)

first it was 'oh we're going camping that weekend'
-really? because you hate camping, and you haven't been to ny in 2 years because you never have the money... and you've known about this upcoming wedding for 2 years AND you knew the shower date before any other guest (and before the invites went out)

then: oh its my brothers birthday that weekend, we're doing something special for him, we always have a big to-do for him.
-really? because for the past 2 years your brother has spent his birthday with us down here in NY because hes here on business... AND he happens to be down here again this year

NOW: oh we're putting my cat to sleep that weekend.
-really? you know over a month in advance when you're going to be putting your cat to sleep? I didn't know until the night before.. maybe they do things differently up in CT?

Well 2morrow our baby patches is being put down after 22 good years....it will be a sad day for the family but atleast he won't be suffering anymore xoxoxoxoxo

IDK... maybe its because there's a lot of background behind this and I'm just pissed over that... but we all think she's making it up as an excuse not to come down here.

oh after the wedding she's getting ripped a new one.
but i dont want to look like a total bitcch if her cat really is being put down.

Even if it is, take the cat the night before! Or how about not drawing out it's suffering for a month longer than necessary?

i've owned a zillion animals. I've volunteered in rescue, foster and at a shelter.

I have never scheduled the euthanasia of an animal a month in advance. if she is doing that, then she's a cruel mindless moron.

yea, I don't think she really is putting the cat down. I think she just doesn't want to drive down to NY for my shower, even though I drove up to CT for hers even when I wasn't formally invited.. helped set up the shower.. let her sleep in my bed at the hotel and got kicked by her all effing night... was overcharged for said hotel (which is owned by a friend of her family), oh then went to her wedding, which I had to miss a dance show for, thus losing out on my summer bonus and gave her a gift that was prob triple what everyone else gave her, ended up getting REALLY sick from the food served at the wedding.. oh I had to her all freaking night while she announced to EVERYONE that she had to pee (as she was about to walk down the aisle she says ' HI EVERYONE, hehe, I HAVE TO PEE!'
we all left early because we weren't feeling good and were all exhausted (we left an hour before it was supposed to end).. went back to the hotel. never heard from her.
I got a thank you card in the mail about 2 weeks later. no favor, no phone call, nothing. oh just a message on facebook asking not to post the pics from her wedding until she gets hers.

wow.. that turned into a rant. sorry....
