I really like this idea. My little cousin has recently been diagnosed with cancer and I really think a donation made in everyone's name would be really special. My question is, How much do you donate. Is it like $5.00 a person or more or less. If oyu don't want to say on here you can FM me. I am really curious and seriously thinking of doing this. We will also be giving mini wine bottles as favors, but my mom is doing that, this is something I can do. Thank you!!!

I'm not doing this, but I think its a great idea. I have been to several weddings where this was done. The donation is not made in everyone's names but in the name of the person its for (ie. your cousin), then the amt is up to you - I went to one where they could only afford $200 and another where they donated $1000. The card matched the invitation paper and said that a donation was made in x's name to the charity.

do you have to state the amount you donated in scrolls that you give to people?

i think you donate what you can. you don't have to tell your guests how much you donated, just like you don't tell your guests how much you spent on favors. i love this idea and will be doing it myself.

I am doing this and we plan on donating what we can. Can't say what that amount is going to be right now... but I'd like it to be as generous as possible. I'd rather our money go to something that is worth while, not some favor people are going to throw away.
I agree with Sandy- no need to tell the guests the amount.

Edited to add: Boop, I'm so sorry to hear about your little cousin. That breaks my heart to hear of little kids that have cancer. My best to your cousin and your family.
