This s ucks...

FH is going up to see his parents the week of 4th of July. I can't go because I can't get that time off. I guess I'm a little annoyed because they were supposed to be planning this trip at the end of August when I could actually go and all of a sudden it's the week of July 4th. He can be flexible with this but I can't.
I'm sad because this would be our 1st and only 4th of July as an engaged couple and I was looking forward to having fun with him. I have to put on a happy face and say it's ok because I know he already feels bad and I don't want to make him feel worse. I know his mom already feels like she's 2nd best to me and I don't want to be selfish and cause any problems. I'm just sad about it and need to vent

Sorry to hear that. I know it must hurt a bit but you are being very understanding which is very commendable. I am sure you guys will have another trip soon that will be wonderful

FH called his mom and she's annoyed that I can't go and that he can't stay longer. She wants him to skip school, but he has 6 classes and can't fall behind. I'm biting my tongue so much it's going to bleed
