This shuttle situation is driving me banana sandwich...

I'm about ready to give up on limo companies that want to charge me an arm and a leg to drive a total of 20 minutes.

An idea was thrown at me that at first I thought was absurd, but the more I think about it, the less absurd it seems.

Basically, I need a shuttle to take about 30 people from the hotel to the venue at 6:00 PM and then take them from the venue to the hotel at 12 midnight. (I already asked the hotel, they do not offer such a service).

The idea that was given to me was to hire a cheese bus. Like a yellow school bus. It's not COMPLETELY crazy, because I am a teacher, so it kind of makes sense, but like who is gonna want to sit on a cheese bus in their wedding gear? I dunno..

What do you ladies think?

I've taken a school bus to a wedding! My cousin said it was super affordable. It was very clean.

Another thing to consider… can you use your limo for the one way. If i get a shuttle I can use my party bus (within the hours) to bring guests to my venue) i'd just need a shuttle one way. I am using Sir Oliver

Hope this helps!

I am using a shuttle and I totally hear you. But, if you pay for a shuttle on the hour (with a 5 hour min like mine) then it stays there all night. If grandma wants to go back to the hotel at 8, it is there for her. If your aunt wants to go with her to make sure she gets there safely and then get back to the wedding, it will do that too. I love that, so it made me feel better. I went to a wedding in FL where they had a shuttle, but because of the lack of flexibility, everyone chose to drive anyway-- I will be soooo mad if I am paying all this money for a shuttle and still have to worry about drunk driving or people passing up drinks to drive home. I paid for your ride! haha

I'm gettig a coach bus bc we have a lot of ppl to do two runs at beginning and 3 at end of night. Also f anyone wants go back early it will be available. Did u try regular car services for a van? I heard cheaper than limo co.
IMO I would totally sit on a school bus to go to a wedding - I am a teacher too but I wouldn't actually hire one for my wedding if that makes sense.
I know ppl do but my mom I think would kill me!

LOL yes i agree that it stinks to pay that much.

i ended up getting an hourly rate for the shuttle.

in the end, it's a small price to pay for getting my guests there and back safely. but i do agree that there should be an option to just pay for the time used for drop off and pick up. i guess they feel that once you book them, they can't really go anywhere else unless it's close by.. and what are the chances of that?

do whatever works for you! that's my motto.

I got quotes for school busses, and they weren't really much less than the ones I got from coach busses.
