...Presidents weekend, and no one on this end of the country can get anywhere!!

I have never seen so much snow in my entire life! Maybe I am too young to remember but is this the worst LI has ever seen?? i don't recall 1994 & 1996 storms being this bad?!

It is totally crazy out there. I just looked outside and my car is totally covered with the snow.

Well there's a good & a bad side to the snow storm for our unsteady economy. The good side is people won't be able to get to the stores to buy crap they don't need with money they don't have yet because the stores are having great sales. The bad side is retail is hurting already & this will be really bad for the stores that spent a ton adveristing their big sales. How can we help? Shop online today, but only buy something you really need that's with in your cash budget.

In 1996 there was 2 feet of snow. I remember that one being bad because we had to go visit my grandmother in the hospital and the roads were awful to travel on. How much snow have we gotten so far?

I did my part shopping online! I bought my bridesmaids microfleece monogramed robes on Red Envelope. On sale for 25 bucks!

Seriously though this is bad and only gonna get worse...I don't think we're going anywhere tomorrow either!

My fh is out plowing for the entrie day and night. It is bad because I cant have him to cuddle with today. So i decided to spend they day with you lovly ladies

This is one of the best reasons for living in a co-op - no shoveling required!

This so far isn't as bad as the 1995 or 96 snow storm - I was in a local college at the time, and my boyfriend and I were literally snowed in the dorms for days! We even had a nearby deli deliver us food and cigarettes

1994 and 1996 were bad. I live in Queens and I remember Mayor Giulini closed the city schools for 3 days.

I am so glad FI and I are off today.

My dad was suppose to work but his boss called him at 6am and told him stay home, enjoy the day off we're keeping the office closed for today.

I hate this weather. FI drove home for work last night and he said it was bad. I am so glad we are both off today

Teri, I totally remember those horrible snow days back at Hofstra! Everybody was stealing the lunch trays to dig their cars out or to go 'sledding'.

We have guests staying with us this weekend, and they can't get back to NY! They were supposed to leave this morning. The earliest flight they can get on is the red eye tomorrow night.

Jenny - yep! I remember there was a HUGE wall of plowed snow by the parking lot near Constitution Hall - literally 10-12 feet or so. On it we had a huge snowball fight - it was so much fun
