I know we all live in different places....but how has this storm been by you? This is almost like a hurricane! They are calling it a nor'easter. It hasnt been too bad by me in Hauppauge. I saw a tree go down in Smithtown. But its been crazy wind and rain here. However, my parents own a pharmacy in Massapequa and it has been a nightmare there. There are trees down everywhere. So many roads closed. They had to close the pharmacy early tonight because they lost their power hours ago. They called at like 4pm with no power. It had been going in and out and eventually just quit. My grandma (in Massapequa) had two trees fall in front of her house! One on her front lawn and the other across her driveway. Almost crushed my aunts car! The power lines also fell across her property and are active on her ground. The electric company told them not to leave the house because they have to come by sometime tonight to address the fallen wires. Even her house phone is out!! Its crazy. They said she will be without power for a few days!
How is it out there by everyone else?

I'm in Queens and it is raining and windy as hel l..a piece of alumium siding is flapping from the roof and there are phone wires down across the street.
Hope this wind dies down tonight

I live in Hauppauge as well. The wind is crazzzy. I went to target before in setauket and I couldn't open my car door the wind was too strong! Around where in Hauppauge do you live? I live near the rinx.

they stopped all shows and had a weather alert on tv.. i have only seen the tests of the emergency broadcast system before.. so its really bad

I live right on the water on the border of lindenhurst and copiague. the bay is the worst i have ever seen it come up in the 8 years we;'ve lived here. i was supposed to go to great neck for a st.patties day party but i still cant even get out of my street. this is insane. our power was out between 7 and 8. I took a shower by candle light so much fun! I feel the wall of my room are going to blow in thats how bad the wind is blowing down here.

I live right on the water on the border of lindenhurst and copiague. the bay is the worst i have ever seen it come up in the 8 years we;'ve lived here. i was supposed to go to great neck for a st.patties day party but i still cant even get out of my street. this is insane. our power was out between 7 and 8. I took a shower by candle light so much fun! I feel the wall of my room are going to blow in thats how bad the wind is blowing down here.
I work at Lindy HS. Maybe they won't have power for Monday morning haha

im in baiting hollow and just drove home from a friends house in center moriches adn it was horrible! the roads are so flooded and so many downed trees! hope everyone is safe!

i live by lindy hs and we all lost power for about 3 hours bc a car hit the main pole on sunrise and indiana!

i'm in queens.. and i spent most of the night at my neighbors (who live on the top floor)... trying to stop their leaks. the storm was so bad that it seeped through the exterior bricks and caused every room in their house to leak! horrible...

I live in Lindenhurst too (hi Lindy girls!), right by the water so my street was literally a lake for a few hours. By midnight it was all back to normal. Three big pieces of my fence in the yard fell over and I have pieces of my neighbors roof on my front lawn. By some miracle we didn't lose power but my lights flickered alot. When I was younger I was in a hurricane and this storm felt just like that.

I'm in Queens and SO thankful that we replaced the roof on the house a year ago (we had a flood to deal with then and are still dealing with some of the water damage). But it is SUPER nasty out, even still. I'm honestly surprised there haven't been any downed trees in my neighborhood.
