This weekend
We went to Russo's for the first birthday party. Glad that's over, honestly.
The party was really cute, they had a brunch. (But only beer wine and soda, so no mimosas or screwdrivers. W*T*H???)
The 'cocktail hour' was amazing, a huge brunch buffet (except they ruined the french toast by putting banas in it!
) but all the food was awesome... danish, bagels, eggs, bacon, rice pudding, bread pudding, quiche, fruit, omelets, fresh waffles, and pineapple meatballs which sound gross but were AMAZING.
Then we went into the Tivoli room
and all the tables were decoarted with a different animal. So we were at the Lion table, and we got a Lion chocolate lollipop as our escort card and the table had a lion balloon centerpiece. Very cute. The DJ played games with the kids that were there all day and of course, the rest of the foo (yes there was more) was good.
Honestly, I've had better penne vodka, I was a little disappointed there. But I had a pork tenderloin roll up type thingie stuffed with eggplant and mozzarella with a marsala sauce which, of course, I could barely eat by then. And cake and pastries were really good. FH had chicken and shrimp francese but skipped the shrimp. FFIL has a crazy risotto dish with al different kinds of seafood. The only reason I didn't get that is because it had monkfish in it, which I do not like.
Super awesome note: FH's mom told the waitress we were getting married there, so at the end of the part, she came out with 2 big shoping bags of pastry trays for Me, FH and his parent sot take home. That was SO nice and exactly the type of service that made us book with Russo's... what other hall does that??
Today, we met with Bravura for a DJ/Entertainment package. Tony, the owner, was fantastic and offered us a fantastic deal. We're gonna do some comparison shopping, but FH and I were really impresed with their options, their package and their presentation.
Anyone who's looking to book a DJ or DJ/Live Combo, I strongly suggest you look here. Just don't look if you're getting married 9/24/11![]()
OH, and our deposit for TP is finally officially in! Woo hoo! Now I need a nap!
