i need reviews from those who have not only used them but also gotten their proofs/pics. FH and I were looking into another photographer but they up-ed their price a bit higher than we can swing. TIA

Re: thomas paul or angelica glass photography
I used Thomas Paul and love my proofs as well as the customer service. Tom is great to work with. Tom and Angelica are very different styles so it's hard to compare, they both do the photo journalistic shots but in different ways...
FM if you have any specific questions

What exactly do you want to know?
I have a review of Tom (of Thomas Paul) in my bride's review, as well as some of my wedding pics from him. He was great to work with, and we felt like we were getting a lot for our money.

I definitely agree about getting a lot for your money with Thomas Paul - he seemed to offer the most at the lowest price for the amazing work that he does. Am i obsessed with Angelica Glass? Heck yes. But she is pretty pricey

Re: thomas paul or angelica glass photography
well first off, you need to really do an interview with both of them. feel them out. who do you get along with better? that's REALLY important to have a good chemistry with the photographer. then look at both styles. which is more your style? not what you think is pretty but what in the end, will make you 100% happy. when you envision your wedding, what type of photographs are you thinking? traditional? photojournalistic? a mix? once you do these, then i think you'll figure it out.
not to confuse you more but you should definitely look into something in blue as well if you're looking for photojournalism. they were my photographers and made my wedding. we were so comfortable with them, the proofs were more than i thought they would be. they're pricey as well but worth every penny. hope this helps a little

If the issue is money, go with whoever is less expensive. If it's about quality, IMHO Angelica Glass clearly has a better eye. TP's shots have a lot of IMHO Photoshop tricks. How can TP and AG be compared in terms of photos, when TP uses freelancers? I know people here are very passionate about THEIR vendors.

That doesn't reflect my experience with Tom? Out of 620 proofs, only 4 had PS effects; of course if I WANT to add more for the final albums he'll do that, but the raw photos were great and exactly what we wanted. Jesca, either of these talented photogs will do a GREAT job, review their sites and see what grabs you; Tom's site is http://www.thomaspaulphoto.com/
He pulled off a miracle for my wedding (Happy to give details by FM!) and I'm thrilled we went with him, and thrilled with what we got for under $3K!!
Best of luck!!

They are both great photographers and you will find a lot of great reviews on both of them on here.
Just looking at everyone else's photo's and both of the photographers websites, I was a bit torn on who to choose. So it came down to price..and TP def. had a better price..and you get a TON in his package. I didn't meet with AG, so I have no comment to make on her personality, but TP is so down to earth and such a sweetheart. Really easy to talk to and keeps in touch with you! I was pretty impressed!

Re: thomas paul or angelica glass photography
thanks guys. i honestly want to use something in blue, but i'm hoping that the price i saw on their website is somehow just for nyc; but in the mean time i figured it couldnt hurt to look at other photographers

aaaand angelica glass wont take appointments or even give me a price till 16 months before the wedding. honestly, i might just move things around to afford something in blue, or i'll start saving extra. at this point, they're what i want and i dont care what i need to do.

Re: thomas paul or angelica glass photography
I really like Angelica Glass' work. Its different and unique. TP is nice but all the pics start looking the same after awhile...alittle much with the photoshopping if you know what I mean. I am into photography so I am just alittle picky. JMO...hope I didnt offend anyone.
I booked Katie Lyman...she does nice work.
Also Blue Daisy does nice work as well!

Re: thomas paul or angelica glass photography
of those 2, i prefer AG, but i believe she's substantially more expensive than TP. we're also using blue daisy for wedding pics, who's in just about the same price range as AG, if you want to check her out.
angelica glass does a lot of fashion photography, and her wedding pics are really creative and edgy. i wanted something a little softer and user-friendly for the wedding, but i still want to use her for boudoir pics (hers are AMAZING).

just wanted to add that AG uses ALOT of photoshop. not necessarily a bad thing. her photos are beautiful just dont want you to use that as a negative with TP

If I'm remembering who TP is, I think they both use A LOT of photoshop but in different ways. AG uses photoshop to enhance the colors and give pictures an edgier look with lots of color. TP photoshops in glitter and sparkles and stuff
I love AG's work but it was too edgy for us for our wedding pictures, I'm pretty traditional and it would have been a little out there for us. I looove looking at her work though, and I'm excited to see brides like Denise (Espo)'s pictures. TP isn't really my style either -- not a fan of the sparkles and other stuff he adds in, but I'm sure he could leave that out if asked.
They are very very very different photographers though! I wouldn't expect someone to like both.
Edit: we booked Imagine Studios -- also photojournalistic but a little more subdued w/ the effects and it fit us better. Here's an example: PICTURES

Re: thomas paul or angelica glass photography
for Tom, as far as the photoshop goes, out of the 1100 proofs I got, he took only 6 or so and photoshopped them, and didn't do any of the 'sparkles' or whatever, it was all basically color enhancing and smoothing things out a bit. He has some of that other stuff on his website, but that doesn't mean that's all he does, and he won't do it if you don't want it. And you still get all your proofs just plain as they were taken.
Angelica Glass has beautiful photos, but when I spoke with her she didn't seem to offer all that much in the package, and she cost a LOT.
You've got to go with whoever you are comfortable with, but don't make your decision based on the use of photoshop - if you don't like it, then don't put it in your album. It's just that simple. You're not paying extra for it or anything, it's just an added thing that some photographers do because some people think it looks cool. Base your decision on the person working with you and the pictures that they take, not any enhancements they may or may not do (unless you really want those enhancements).

Re: thomas paul or angelica glass photography
honestly everybody will have a different opinion. What it all comes down to is the type of pictures you want for your wedding. When you look at either photographer, whose pics do you say WOW that is the look i want for my pics. Its not about which is better its about which is better for you. AG is my photographer, and i picked her because when looking at her pics, the second i say them i thought THAT is it that is the style i want for my pictures. Some people are more traditional that i know and for them they looked for something else in a photographer, personally i dont want traditional pics so for me it was perfect.
I think it comes down to a couple of things, first is to love their work. SO if you love both their work then it also comes down to their personality, how do you clique with them. How others have cliqued with them won't matter, because we are all different people and dont all clique with the same people. I have read others getting along with vendors that i personally didnt care for their personality and some said they didnt like the personalities of ppl i met with but i loved their personalities, so go by your own experience. And then if theres a budget you want to stick to for pics then look at that too.
I would just look at their sites, look at their blogs and see which photographer sticks out for you more
good luck

MM hmm..she uses alot of tricks and is infamous among photographers for not sharing. Most of her web pictures are also of ebautiful people sooo....
nuff said.
She is artistic but I have heard wonderful things about TP-that he is really accomodating and not snooty at all. As someone else said, def check them both out and see you who you're comfy with.
