Those bead places on 28th St...does anyone know...

If you can actually shop in those stores? I was around there yesterday after work and every single store...I saw bead places, jewelry stores, pocketbook stores...said WHOLESALE ONLY...no RETAIL...need TAX ID #. I was so intimidated, I didn't even bother going in...however, I saw so many gorgeous pieces for my girls from looking in the window...

there's tons of them on 6th ave in the 30's and you can buy it retail =)

i have a fashion biz and we always shop at those places retail (we are not big enough to buy wholesale quantities!) Try: Toho Shoji (near 36th), Phoenix Beads (off 6th Ave around 38th or so), New York Beads (near 38th or 39th)-- ALL of these sell retail

no problem! the places i listed are for actually *making* jewelry but they do have some stuff ready made... but if you walk that strip on 6th Ave there are tons... and 90% of them sell retail.. its mostly the clothing stores that only sell wholesale. good luck!

there's also a Beadworld on Brodway beween 38 & 39, directly across from the Bridal Building (1385 Bwy). & many other stores on 6th between 34th & 40th sts.
