Those darn sports...

John hurt himself playing softball yesterday. Came in the house with one shoulder slumped and couldnt move his arm. Wasnt as bad as we thought, thank Goodness. We went to the ER and they told us it was an AC Separation. Gotta love those medical terms... we were like huh ? so we joked around and go 'Atlantic City Separation' (easy way to remember huh ??) I think its just some pulled ligaments in the shoulder

So now I have a baby in a diaper and a hubby in a sling..

I do love that he loves to play every week, keeps him active, and its good for 'the boys' to have their playtime, but these sports injuries make me nervous, could have been much worse (knock wood).

I know what you mean - Al doesn't play the typical team sports he likes the solo dangerous ones: rock climbing, snowboarding, kiteboarding, swimming in shark infested waters, etc! He's dislocated his shoulder kayaking (requiring surgery) and tore his acl in his knee (skiing).

and, last summer he sliced up his foot (playing with his kiteboarding trainer kite on the beach) a few days before our trip to Germany/Ireland. Lucky me, I got to remove his stitches on our trip

Oh Anna ...I am sorry to hear that John got hurt. I hope he feels better soon!!!
My Dh also plays every Sunday and I cringe everytime he slides or gets hit with ball....you just never know what could happen!!!

Be thankful he will go to the emergency room. I'm pretty sure Patrick broke his toe last night (pruning shrubs in the dark ~ he dropped the clippers on his big toe and didn't have shoes on). His toe is 3 times it's size and almost black, but he insists he's fine. MEN!

i hope he gets better soon.. my mike had to give up baseball case of hurting his arm,but he still plays ice hockey ive gone through stitches, black and blues, ad back problems.. so hugs to you

Jenn, I give him credit, he WILL go to the ER if he feels its something that could 'get worse' or is bad enough, but once he's there he'll start diagnosing himself, always gives the Dr's a good laugh
