Those flying with jetblue..be aware...security not too good....
I waited till everything got straightened out with jetblue before writing this. But i think its VERY important that you know the story because due to what happened with us, Ido not think fh and I will be flying with them again.
I think its very important to read through to the bottom so you can make your own decision)
Our flight had been delayed for 7 hours (No biggie, we actually wanted it to be!) and when we boarded the plane, and they did a 'Flight check' They called fh's name. He raised his hand (did NOT check his I.D.) and we were off. Fine... We thought nothing of it.
The next day, I get a email with a voucher to reimburse only my flight. I thought that was odd.
So, I call the jet blue help center and asked. The person, Rick, on the phone says to me, 'Ma'am, Vincent wasn't on the plane, that is why he is not receiving a voucher'.
So I continue by saying 'He sat right next to me, ate animal crackers and blue chips'.
Now, Instead of being nice, the man turns around and says 'Maam Vincent never checked into the airport and was not on that plane'.
So, here i go
'What the he** do you mean he wasn't on the plane? He was sitting RIGHT NEXT TO ME'.
This goes on back and forth for a good three minutes till I say I want to talk to a manager.
'Hello, this if Frank, how can I be of assistance'.
I explain the whole situation, and guess what his reply is 'Maam, Vincent was not on the plane so we can not give him a voucher. He never even CHECKED INTO THE AIRPORT'...
Now I am so upset. But NOT about the voucher... I asked to be transferred to their security center and gave them a piece of my mind...
I said 'Granted, even if Vincent was not on that flight...THERE WAS SOMEONE with HIS BOARDING PASS in that airport for 8 hours, and who SAT in Vincents seat. Now tell me, with our security on level ORANGE don't you think that if the flight crew thought that he was NOT on the plane and yet, there was a MAN sitting IN HIS SEAT shouldn't they have CHECKED his I.D. to see WHO THE UNIDENTIFIED MAN was? You didn't even have him checkedin and claim that there are NO security cameras in the terminal or the plane?'
The woman was baffled. I was a mess. My friend's mother works for JetBlue and when I told her the story she told me that there was an instance where a man fell asleep during a delayed flight. And ANOTHER man, took his boarding pass and boarded the jetblue plane with it. NO I.D. asked.
So, she, i guess feeling threatened, told me to fax over ALL PROOF that i have of vincent being on the flight...
Here is what I faxed:(How odd I just started snaping pictures? Ive never done it befre)
A picture of the terminal
A picture of the plane 'ole Blue Eyes' Next to us that couldn't take off for three hours
A picture of vinnie with TWO of our flight attendants behind him (Their name tags were shown as well)
his boarding pass
And TWO AuBonPan American Express recipts from the terminal itself.
I mean, to me, GOD FORBID it is someone who will harm the plane. Esp a plane flying from Orlando to NYC. Although it's small, it can still do some damage.
Yes, we have our vouchers but with the way that jetblue handled it, telling me I was a liar, and trying to 'get over' on them... I don't think I will be flying with them again. Yes they are the cheapest but in my mind...at what cost?
MY ADVICE to you guys, if you DO fly jet blue, TAKE PICTURES of everything to document proof that you were on the flight... and ask them WHY they don't check the id of those they call who they think are not on the plane!

Dear Jennifer,
Thank you for contacting JetBlue Airways and for sending us the documentation of your trip to
Orlando. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. We at JetBlue perform 'Roll Call' on planes where the flight attendant may have not scanned the boarding pass. This is why Vincent's name was called shortly after boarding the plane.
We have reviewed the information you sent and have issued Vincent his travel vouchers for Flight #58
on July 8, 2008. JetBlue vouchers are issued electronically. They are valid for a 12-month period
from the date they are issued; you do not have to fly within one year as long as you have applied
your voucher towards a purchase within the one-year period. Vouchers are also name-specific, and are
not transferrable. Your voucher information is as follows:
Issued To: Vincent F
Jennifer, we thank you for bringing this security issue to our attention. We appreciate your business and look
forward to welcoming you both onboard JetBlue again soon.
Happy Jetting!
Sincerely,
Michelle
