I haven't even sent out STD's yet, and a friend of mine who a long time ago promised to come said he won't be able to make it (he lives in CA). I am seriously on the verge of tears. How will I handle getting no's on my response cards!?!?
Did anyone else go through this, or am I crayz?

I guess because he lives in CA, and I haven't seen him in sooo long. He also had said he wouldn't miss my wedding for the world, but now it just won't be possible.

The same thing happened to me with a friend who lives in FL. It ***** when people you really want to see can't spend your day with you. Hopefully most of your No's will be people you didn't expect to come or people you didn't want to come!

One of my friend is just coming back from Iraq then he will be in a 3 weeks training in CA just at the time of my wedding.
Needless to say he is not coming unless training is cancelled. Of course, we both know this is not going to happen.
Some no's will be coming. You cannot take it too personally.
BUT I am sorry your friend cannot make it!

I am not upset by the 'nos', however, if a really close friend responded no, I would be upset. I don't think you will feel as affected by most like you did this one since it was someone close to you.
We only invited people we want to attend so there are no courtesy invites that we hoped would be NO's Some we expected to be NO and ended up being YES though

Some of the 'no's upset us. Some were our bridal party, backing out at the last minute. You think you know who your friends are. We're only looking forward to those that want to be with us, not dwell on those that aren't coming.
BTW... almost all our guests are OOT

How are your responses? We invited over 180, have 95 yes and 47 no. About 30 people live on Long Island. We are past the RSVP date, so who knows?

I thought I'd be more upset about some of our no's, but it didn't really affect me. I'm just looking forward to who IS coming, and can't worry about the no's. Not to mention, our final count is the perfect size for us.

We have 16 no's so far, and most of them were not a surprise at all, but only one bothered FH, and that was his grandparents. He was very upset, but I kind of saw it coming since they're not in the best of health and they're OOT.
