I am wondering what card you use, and what are the benefits etc that come with them? how many miles do you need to get a free flight? I use our CC quite frequently, and we try to pay them off in full every month. I am interested in getting a miles card in hopes that we can use it to upgrade our HM flight, or even get one for free?? TIA!!!

Re: those of you who have miles cards
I have Delta Skymiles AMEX and love it. We have gone so many places for free, and will be going to Italy and France in a few short weeks .... for free! It makes you feel less guilty about spending money. When you sign on, you get 10,000 bonus miles. Then you earn double miles at gas stations, supermarkets, and a few other places. They really add up quickly. You could go someplace for like 30,000 - 40,000 miles (depending on where.) And Delta has partner flights that you can use (We are flying Air France for free bc it's a partner flight.) We love it. WE're considering getting one for SW too bc my parents live in FL and we always fly SW. You may also want to consider the AMEX that you can use with any flight but they cost more annually i think.

We use Amex with reward points. It costs about 150 annually for two cards. I love Amex because you have to pay in full each month. Plus, the points can be used for many different airlines and vacations as well as a variety of other products. My husband had a United Visa before we were married that we still use as well. I think they are great. We have flown to Grenada for free and my husband and his mother have gone to Argentina a number of times for free. We are now using the free miles to fly home from Ireland. I definitely think they are worth the $$$ if you use them regularly and pay them off in full each month. You will be surprised at how fast the miles add up.

DH and I also have the Amex Delta Skymiles card and we love it!! We haven't cashed in any of our miles yet but we already have enough for free airfare. I think you need about 40000 miles to fly round trip to Europe.
