Those of you with inner envelopes

did you address them? I mean, I know you're SUPPOSED to put the guests' names on them - but is it really necessary? Or am I just being lazy...

i don't have them ... you're SUPPOSED to (as you said) but honestly, if i were a guest, i wouldn't think twice about whether the inner envelope was addressed or not

i think i'm going to, but you definitely don't have to. i know my sister didn't for her wedding.

eta i only plan to put their names, not addresses.

We did adress the inner with the persons name and if they had a guest or not.

You dont have to do it if you dont want. Its not lazy!

yeah, the invite lady says that's where you specify whose invited. for example 'Mr. and Mrs. so and so..instead of so and so and family.

Re: Those of you with inner envelopes

On the outter envelopes I put their formal names like 'Mr. and Mrs. John Dunn' and on the inside I put only 1st names 'Lisa and Paul'. That way if you are inviting a family it is clear who is invited. For example: 'The Reed Family' on the outside and 'Greg, Lisa, Susan and Timothy' on the inside. This is the way 'the invitation lady' said to do it.

ETA: Oh and address only on the outside!

I didn't, because I did not feel like it was necessary.

I've only seen them with the names on them, not the addresses.

I didn't put any address on the inner envelopes....I just formally put every ones name and whether they were invited with a guest.

Thanks ladies. I wasn't going to literally put the address on the inner envelope - I meant putting the names. I was considering whether I had to put the names at all or could just leave them blank since I was getting tired of feeding the envelopes one-by-one into my crappy printer. I'll probably s*ck it up and put the names on... ugh.
