Those who booked your place & vendors awhile ago...

Have you been in contact with your vendors regularly? I feel a little unsure because I booked & left deposits but really haven't spoken to anybody. They said I should call our Rabbi who is marrying us only 3 months in advance, and my place said the same thing but I'm starting to get nervous, even though we have signed contracts and paid. Am I just being a bridezilla? Do you think it is ok to call to check up on everything?

I feel the same way. I ask myself, what if theur computer got screwed up and they don't have my name or number to contact me? Stuff like that. I am going to contact them very soon.

what annoyed me was that the Westbury Manor said they would send us reminders before all the deposits were due... we didn't get ONE notice or phonecall... luckily i had it all written down, otherwise i wouldn't have known.

The only places I booked ahwile ago was teh Reverend and the hall. Teh hall I speak to regularly..Im sure thay must love me over there..and teh Rev I call ever few months..I dont have a contract with him..so Im nervous..but he laughs when I call him and he is very reassuring and understands that I panic. Definately call if it will put your mind at ease!!!

I have been in contact with all my vendors every couple of months. The Manor East sends me a reminder bill six weeks before the payment is due. The only vendor I have not really spoken to is my DJ, but I do call and leave him messages but I have not asked for him to call me back. I also know that if anything is wrong with him, Withthisring's mom will call him up for me. She knows him forever.

I have not been in touch with any since I booked either. I am sure they have you down, I know I will be in touch a month before I have to be.

I booked DJ,florist,hall,and church a while ago I have been in contact with the hall for the deposits but I also worry a lot about the others. I keep thinking the same things like what if they double booked the day or something.

I want to call the DJ but what do I say 'I just want to make sure that your still doing my wedding?'
Now I feel a little nervous

tracyg, I'd call WM and double check that they have your correct address because I've gotten all my reminders from them (2 so far) and I have trouble with my mail all the time! I'm not really worried about not having spoken to my vendors. I have all my contracts and I'm not afraid to sue or go nuts on my florist if I need to!!!

is it up to the Banquet Manager to send the reminders? i'll go and check the address on the contract too.... (cuz shes been good for nothing so far!!)

I have stopped into my hall every few months to check on things. I don't see anything wrong with calling and checking up. Things change a lot in the wedding industry. I think it looks good for you to actually check in, then they see you are taking things seriously and you won't let things slide.

As of September 5th we will be at 6 months. So I have called most of them in the past month. I have started to call CB more because of all these thoughts, concerns and ideas I have.

I don't know if it is up to the banquet managers or not, but if you're having a hard time with whomever you're dealing with, maybe ask if you can change people? I think the guy I'm dealing with is Dave...no problems so far, but then again, I haven't contacted him for anything since we booked.
