I'm just starting the search for BM dresses, and I only have 3 girls. 1- MOH 2- BMs
The girls are at the widest spectrum of sizes and shapes - one is a 2, one is a 14 or 16, and one is a 24 or 26 - so I was considering choosing a color and a designer and letting them choose their own gown, but they shot that down.
My sister (MOH) wants to be different though, and she's difficult to fit because of a very large chest.
2 of the 3 girls REQUIRE some sort of strap/sleeve that they can wear regular bras with, and nobody wants to wear satin.
I'm having a reallllly difficult time finding 2 different dresses from 1 designer that have straps and aren't satin!
My question is- How different was your MOH from the BMs? Did you have a hard time finding a dress?
Thanks

Also, do anyone's BM dresses sound like something I'm looking for?

Hi Shorty!
I am the MOH in my sisters wedding, and she has 5 BM all ranging from a size 2 - 26.
Here is my dress from Landa: (I will be wearing it in Orchid and the fabric is georgette)
Here is the BM dresses from Jordan: (this is the colour they will be wearing - Plum)

hahah Mel - MOH Diva at Large
Those dresses are beautiful - but the empire waist just doesn't go with the DDDs in my BP!

All of my BMs including my MOH are wearing different dresses. They are all two piece dresses from the same designer. I picked a plain a-line skirt and they all are picking their own top. So far its working out well.

I had the same situation. I have 3 BMs, size 3, size 7, and size 18 and my MOH is a size 22/24. What I did was the Alfred Angelo separates. They each picked out what top they felt most comfortable in. They are all going to be in the same color, just different styles.

Im using Jordan 507... I have wide ranges of sizes for BM. This dress is strapless but comes with spaghetti straps and you can use the shawl also. But the Jordan dress you are looking at, looks great on almost everyone.
My sister (MOH) is a size 2-4 and she was such a pain in the @ss, her dress is different designer. She wanted a dress that didnt look to Brides Maidy (her words)LOL
BM Dress
MOH -Shelli Segal (will be in light blue)

I had my MOH in one gown my Matron of Honor in another and I let the other MB choose between 3 gowns I picked out. All were the same designer and color. Good luck! You can always opt for a shawl.

I have 3 girls, my sister is the MOH, and my 2 BM's...and I am having them all wear the same dress. That is an option for you as well. I'll just have my MOH have a different boquet.

Thanks so much.
I'm considering this Jordan dress right now:
I think this dress is soooo pretty and could potentially look great on all sizes! I've always heard to stay away from satin... it's the least forgiving of all the materials you could choose from. Good luck!
Re: Those who had different dresses for MOH and BM-
Hey Nic! They make dresses that are two piece. We got those for my brothers wedding. It was great bc it was less cost for the alts. I had lost weight and Debs sister was pregnant and had gotten bigger so instead of alts we switched bottoms.

I am so Diva-at-large
Actually, the beading on the Empire waist makes the bust look smaller. One of my sister's girls is above most measures & has to get her bras specially made or ordered or something. Jordan has quite a few dresses that are not shiny though, and that was important to my sister as well. I think also Dessy had some that were not shiny, as did Waters and Waters.

Re: Those who had different dresses for MOH and BM-
I had some of the same issues.....My MOH is coming from CA and is in her 50's..she wanted sleeves also.....1 BM is 30 and is a skinny little thing...and my JBM is 8 years old......
Each person is going to have a different dress from 3 different designers...we matched up the colors as best as we could...There usally aren't too many pics of them all standing together so it shouldn't be an issue...to me it doesn't really matter as long as everyone is comfortable.
MOH is wearing a MOTB dress from Alfred Angelo.....she is going to mix and match what ever she wants.....
BM is wearing mix and match from Expressions.
JBM is wearing a dress from Jordan.
The material isn't going to be stain except for the JBM...all others will be wearing a georgette material.....
