Okay, really dumb question, but when you're doing your dinner stuff and glasses and stuff - is the price per item??? Don't they make sets anymore like 6 placesetting or 8 person placesetting?

It's usally per item. For china - it's per place setting.
The more casual items have sets, but Fortunoff's doesn't really carry that many.

This stuff is really expensive!
I am absolutely in love with one of their bedding sets but the entire set (gotta have everything matching) it would be about $800!!!!

OOhh...so I shouldn't feel too bad right?
It just seems like everything is really expensive b/c I'd never be able to afford it...but hey...we'll see how much family loves me!
GO for it. Maybe a few guests will go in together on a gift. Or maybe a generous aunt will buy you the entire ensemble. They say to put items of all different price levels on your registry - giving your guests a lot of options.

Re: Those who registered online at Fortunoff
we had things as low as $1.50 and as high as $2,500 and both ends of the spectrum (as well as the middle range were purchased.
I had a crate and barrel registry, and everything on it was purchased after my shower. Now that I have the 10% I put some stuff on there that I want that I did not have on there before.
Our Macy's registry has two things left, one for 13 and the other for 20.
Our fortunoff's registry has the most stuff left. I got almost all of my good dish sets. I have one set left to purchase. I also did not get my pots and pans.
As for registry advice, put a lot of stuff in the 25-55 range for shower presens and put a lot in the 90-350 rage for wedding presents. At least that was my experience. (But theb again, if you want more cash, as we did (we will use it for a downpayment on a home) we put a couple in each range - but were pleased because the large majority of our guests gave cash.
As a side note, I should have registered at Tiffany's because we got a lot of presents from there and we did not register there. If you think your guests mght like to shop at Tiffany's you might be wise to start one there. I wish I had.
