My FH and I would like to go to Hawaii for our HM. We are looking into: 3 nights Oahu 5 nights Maui 3 nights Kauai
All at the Hyatts. We were also thinking about staying in vegas for 3 nights on the way back. But for the Hawaii part... how much should I be expecting. Do we need a car on all islands? We know we want to do the road to Hana on Maui.. do we need a car for just that day or should we get it for all five? TIA!!

i went to kauai for 7 days and maui for 6. id definitely recommend getting a car for teh whole time youre there. we used it and its fairly inexpensive.

We spent $6000 on the airfare, hotel and car(two islands)...
You don't really need a car on Oahu...
We have a car on Kauai and on Maui...
The road to hana we are doing with our own car, but they do have tours that take you around.
If you want to go at your own pace then get a car....

I went to Hawaii too and we had a car for each day we were there. the restaurants at the Hyatts are expensive so you will want to go off site some nights to eat at a reasonable price.

Thanks everyone for replying.. It looks like we'll get a car for maui and kauai... maybe oahu. We are going to start pricing things out. With the vegas part...we want to try to stay under 8K. Thanks again!

I've been there before, and you don't need a car for Oahu...there is public transportation everywhere and everything is kinda on the one main strip. I would recommend a car on all the other islands.
