not really... they more just sort of give you a shape and make it so you're not just completely flopping around in there. But you're pretty much relying on the bodice of your dress to actually hold you in.

So, like, I think they're fantastic for people like me who have a smaller to medium chest and don't really need support, but I don't know if I'd recommend them for somebody who is like a DD and really needs something to hold them up.

I had cups sewn in. They provided no support whatsoever but they gave me a shape.

Mine did, but I had a corset-back wrap dress that tightened just under the bust line.
