my girlfriend and her dh had a baby girl, and she took part of her wedding gown and made her daughters christianing dress from it , its beautiful, but i thought that was a neat idea.

That is really a sweet idea! I think that is something I would do. I know I would never use the gown again so,,, why not!?!
My great Aunt who is well into her 70's now.. was married 50 years when my uncle had past away!! A few years after she was married she had her dress made in to a night stand table cloth. It was so sweet, because after he past she had a picture of him on it and her gown with it evey day.
