I think that's a very nice offer. If you like the look of the dress, I'd recommend going and trying it on to see how it fits on you. If you like it, and it's in good shape, I think it's something to consider.
Good luck fighting for your deposit on the other dress!!

You can't go wrong with either dress, they are both gorgeous! If I was in your shoes and had to pick I would honestly take the one for $200. Heck, I might even be tempted to take that offer even if I wasn't in your shoes just to save money.
You have plenty of time so hold off on making a decision and see if your friend is willing to wait on an answer. You might get a new job sooner than you think. Still try and get your deposit back if you can though but you can always order your dress again at a later time.
Is your wedding date set for 10/8/12 still? Mine is two days before yours. You are more than welcome to borrow any of the items we'll be using (ie candy jars for candy buffet, candles etc.) Our wedding is over at 6pm so I can arrange that you pick them up at the RH after then if you'd like and then you can go drop them off at yours.

IMO the first dress is georgous. Definitely try it on. It's a great back up if you can't settle your dilema. Good luck!

The dress your friend is selling is beautiful you should try it on & see if you get the same feeling you did when you tried the dress you put the deposit on.

Both are beautiful but if she is offering it for that price I think thats a great deal. Then you can customize it they way you want, add a belt take off the straps.

Wow-- her gown is stunning--- I would take her up on it!!! You probably can even have the sleeves removed and can change out the sash if it would help you to make it feel more like the one you put the down payment on (Some of these look similar and are fairly reasonable in price)! With a little creativity it could more closely resemble the one you loved enough to put money down on!

I LOVE your friend's dress and I think it is great that she offered to sell it to you for so cheap! I saw this dress in a window and it was one of my faves, but I went with another Enzoani gown. I say try it on, you may adore it instantly or hate it, and then you have your answer.
