Has anyone had their wedding or planning on having their wedding at Venetian Yacht club?
If so thoughts?? Pros.. Cons....
One of my concerns is that there is limited space to take pictures there.

Re: Thoughts about Venetian Yacht Club?
I am getting married there and am Overall Happy with my decision so far -
Many people I know have been to weddings there and loved it -
The deck by the water is usually where people take there pics- But I am hoping I can get most of them at the park thta is on the way to the Venetien.
I just love the open rooms with the water for a summer wedding - I am also doing the steel drum for the cocktail Hour and they have an 1 1/2 Cocktail
Alos we had our food tasting and it was really really good - I just feel like you get so much for the money -
Cons for me - the 2 weddings / Not crazy about the Bridal suite ( But I dont plan on being there to much )
Good Luck !!

My FH and I really liked the place/decor initially but after a few more visits we found a lot of things that didn't sit well with us. There are alot of things that need touching up - paint, molding, spackling. All that money and a place like that should really be close to pristine. But the major issue was the very strong odor in the carpet. We even went back after it was cleaned-- baad. Looks good but if you have guests who 'notice things' wouldn't recommend it. Disapoainting

Re: Thoughts about Venetian Yacht Club?
I have been there at least 4-5 times and have never noticed any odor at all -And have brought multiple people with me in my family and believe me they would have told me if they smelled something
I agree the back siding (by the water could definately look better) but I think that is really the case with any place that close to the water -
It is a matter of taste No matter where you go on the water it will be different from your typical wedding hall.

I went to a wedding there once, I didn't carry around a magnifying glass with me, but it seemed like a nice place, good food, nice view of the water!

I looked there. The only thing I didnt like was they told me the bridge lights up at night and there is a gorgeous view. There is a very pretty view in day light but when I went back at night there is no view at all.

Re: Thoughts about Venetian Yacht Club?
I booked there. I wanted a wedding on the water, and I loved the view.
Also, went to my tasting, and loved the food. I had been to a few others, and did NOT enjoy the food.
I agree about the bridal suite, but I could care less, because if I'm in there for more than 5 minutes, I'll be pissed.
I also agree about the need for touch ups. But I have been to many weddings, and I always see the little things there as well. I think there's nothing you can do about that stuff.
All in all, I really liked it, and I have been there many times, and I have never smelled anything. And my olfactory nerves are wack- I would have smelled it. Maybe there was some kind of problem when the other poster went.
God, I hope it doesn't smell, and I am somehow impervious to it.

Girls! Are you seriously concerned with the touch ups? Ahhhhh. I have never ever been to a wedding where I commented about the updates etc needed. Have you???? Of course as the brides we look at this but do you really think the guests will?? It is a venue, a place to have fun, drink and be happy for the couple. I am so happy we decided to have a smaller wedding where we only invited people who gave a * enough about us not to comment of the updates needed! I have been to VYC several times. Our school always has the retirement parties there. The atmosphere is pretty on the water. The service is good. The style is your own opinion. Do you like it? It was not necessarily what we were looking for but I liked it when we went for occasions. happy hunting.

My school has ours there too...do you work in the same district as me? LOL...!
I think the view at VYC is beautiful...I went to a wedding there once (it was a long time ago, about 10 years when it was called John Anthony's) and the food was very good and it was a really nice wedding. More recently at retirement parties, I noticed that the food is inconsistent...great at one party and dry and just bad at another. Because of this, I didn't want to book my wedding there...I don't know if they use different chefs for different occasions? I was worried that my wedding would be an 'off' day and I would be mad.....def do a tasting there.

I'm a VYC bride....I really thought the place was beautiful. I honestly didn't notice the 'touchups' that some people say are needed....I was concerned about the view, the food and the price!

We completely agree, FH and I were overwhelmed with the smell.. this was last summer. We were also concerned with the small staircase and small elevator
We were surprised when we drove up and realized it was formerly John Anthony's as well..

Re: Thoughts about Venetian Yacht Club?
We visited 4 RHs, then narrowed down our choices to 3, and VYC was one of the final 3. The first day we went for our initial appointment I absolutely loved it, and it was my top choice. It was a gorgeous July morning, sunny, warm, sparkly, and it was set up for a wedding and it was just spectacular.
So we set up a second appointment to just show FH's parents each of our final 3 choices, and it ended up being one of those crazy monsoon days we had over the summer. We almost killed ourselves getting there because the route and parking lot was completely flooded out, and without the sun shining, everything kind of lost its appeal. Plus when they opened up the door to let us look in the room (we weren't allowed to walk in for liability because we didn't have a BM with us), there were buckets set up on the floor to catch the water from the leaking roof!!!
So that completely turned us off from it. We had never been there before, so had no experience with the food, and when we saw it on a crappy day we realized how much it relies on a bright sunshiny day, the ambiance of the boats in the water, and/or good weather, and since we were looking at Fall/early Winter, we didn't want to take that chance.

Re: Thoughts about Venetian Yacht Club?
VYC was the first RH we looked at because we got engaged at 'The Venetian' in Vegas and thought it would be cute if we had our reception there. If definitely depends on your style regarding the decor, it was a little much for us. Also we were not treated very nicely when we went there. The BM basically made us feel like we were bothering her and she could care less if we booked there or not. Not the best sales angle if you ask me. Its got a great view, but first impression killed it for us.
