so i often find myself thinking of my wedding day... and i think about the guests that will be there. they are segregated. sorta. i have my mom's family, my dad's family, jackie's family, my friends, my 'website' friends, and my co workers. all these people dont know each other, so i constantly find myself thinking about how it's gonna be hard to bounce from one group to another.
i know that it's my wedding, and i shouldnt worry about these things... but i cant help but think about these scenerios.
anyone else ever think about stuff like that?

Re: thoughts in my head
yes! I have so many different groups of friends just for myself, plus fh's friends, my family on both sides, and fh's family. Its a lot of running on holdiays so I can't imagine what it will be like at the wedding. FH and I are thinking of doing a recieving line to greet everyone before cocktail hour so we can get all the hellos in and try just to enjoy ourselves.

Yes!! I think of the exact same thing all the time. I don't always necessarily think about it in terms of how are they going to mesh together more like how am I going to talk to everyone and still have time to dane and enjoy the 'party' part of the wedding myself.. I just keep trying to tell myself its all going to work out

i think i'm thinking about it too much!!

I think about this often. Some of my family members are upset to have to 'be in the same room' with another race. I just hope everyone meshes well so I don't have to feel like I'm on high alert in case someone gets out of line.

Re: thoughts in my head
FH & i try very hard to keep our worlds from colliding. & our wedding is going to be a big collision of assorted friends & family.
but if you really think about it, people have weddings all over the world everyday & we don't hear many stories of guests fitting because they didn't have enough time to talk to the bride & groom. what i have seen friends do is a receiving line at church & then a quick run around the room either during cocktail hour or some time during the reception.
its a day all about the bride & groom, hopefully your guests will let you enjoy your celebration as husband & wife.

Aww. I think on that day, everything will just come together. Everyone will understand that you cant spend the night with just them so bouncing around will be no problem.
Our wedding consists of mostly family. Neither FH nor I have a lot of friends, in fact, I think all our friends fit at one table. LOL

Re: thoughts in my head
Actually, I've never really thought about this. Most of our families know each other, and most of our friends know each other. As for extended family, well they will just have to make themselves comfortable. With all the people at weddings, there's always a way for everyone to find some comfort. Besides I think it's just common knowledge that there will be people there that others don't know.
But I do think we are also going to do a receiving line at the church so we get to talk to most of the people before the cocktail hour. That way we can enjoy ourselves during the wedding.
As for talking to one friend and then the other, I think everyone will understand that you can't spend the whole night just talking to certain people. You have to mingle amongst everyone.

Of course. But you have to understand everyone is there for the same thing; to celebrate! Don't worry so much about that. As long as there is a bar and music, then you will be ok.

I'm the same way. My family (dad's side and a few on mom's side who dont' know each other), his family (his dad's, mom's and a few of his step mom's fam), my hs friends, college friends, and work friends, his friends, his work friends, and his hs friends.
At least on my side the groups never mixed except for 1 or 2 of them so they don't know each other either.
