Thoughts on Afternoon Weddings

Thoughts on Afternoon Weddings

Getting married next July, doing the wedding in the afternoon is like half the price. However, I really don't want an afternoon wedding. I feel like there not as much fun. I don't know. Any thoughts on this?

I had an afternoon wedding for the same reasons and I do not regret it at all. It was still a blast! We had a fun after party too, at the hotel we were staying at that kept all the young people partying until late at night anyway!

I went to an afternoon wedding a couple of weeks ago (12-5) on a Saturday. It was actually great! Although the couple didn't decide to, I would've had a big afterparty! Me & FH were tipsy and ended up heading home happy that we still had the whole afternoon to hang out! The only con I can see.. is that the bride decided to have her rehearsal the night before. It ended around 11pm and she had to be up at 6 for hair and make-up.. She was exhausted! I would def not have the rehearsal the night before!

Other than that, I would do it!

Forgot to add-It helped that there were no windows in her room.. still had very much of a party atmosphere!

The room has alot of windows, and I love how it looks at night! I'm just nervous that so many people are going to think its so weird and not have a good time!

I dont think people will care.

As long as there is booze, good music and good food - it will be great.

I think it depends on the people too - my fam and friends can make anything fun!

I was at an afternoon wedding at Giorgios in May of 2010, and it was the best wedding ever!!!! I drank and danced the whole time. Giorgios has a lot of light too. Everyone had a great time.

I dont think it matters. You and the people you invite make the party. It's one day so if you want to save money go for it! Good luck

I had an afternoon wedding and it was fantastic! People danced and drank just as if it were an evening wedding and they stayed the whole time since they didn't have to worry about getting home too late. Plus then they could continue the party elsewhere afterward!

I'm doing an afternoon/twilight wedding, ending at 7:30PM. Afternoon prices can't be beat. I was originally a little iffy on not having an evening wedding, but for me there are perks...
My guests can appreciate the beautiful venue grounds even more in the daylight. The older guests will have no trouble staying awake, the younger guests can always continue the party later in the night.
Plus, I've always enjoyed afternoon social events (I sometimes get bad hangovers just from having a couple of drinks at night), so an afternoon party/wedding is fitting for me.
I trust that my guests will have a great time, no matter what time it is.

Your guests will have fun because they're showing up that day/night to celebrate you! Guests respond to a fun atmosphere whatever time it may be!

To me a wedding is fun no matter what time or day it is! I've been to a few afternoon weddings and they were just as good as any other wedding at night we've been to. With the right DJ or band it won't matter, they will have everyone up and dancing.
