Thoughts on Beckwith Pointe in New Rochelle

Has anyone been to a wedding there? I would appreciate any feedback...positive or negative. The outside views look amazing but was wondering what the ballrooms look like.

I went to check out beckwith point....i was not impressed....the outside view was amazing....BUT i thought the ballroom was a little outdated....and i didn't like the fact that the CH room and the Ballroom were separated by a detachable wall.....i hated the dance floor. It was old and crappy looking. Check out the VIP Country CLub on davenport...it's really nice and if you meet with Debbie...she's amazing. I loved her!!!! She'll totally work with you budget and make things happen. She was very accomodating. The CH room was separate and they place is very pretty.

Good luck

Thanks...good to know. When did you go there? They claim they did a major renovation recently...

I went earlier this year....you should just make an appointment and go look at it for yourself....and while you are there go to all the other places in new rochelle....might as well get the majority out of the way. Thats what i did....I went to VIP Country Club, Surf Club, Beckwith Point, fountainhead, glen island harbor club....all in one day!!!

Let me know if you have any other questions....

My top two was glen island and VIP....went with Glen island.

I agree. Beckwith Pointe is nice - and the views are beautiful. But the food (in my opinion) during the cocktail hour was very 'blah' and the partition doesn't even close off the entire area so people can still walk in and out of the CH and ballroom as they please. Davenport Avenue is 'wedding row' as they call it since you have an abundance of reception halls and country clubs that cater to weddings. VIP is very nice, but there are many others you can look into as well. Glenn Island is beautiful - great place - great food (a little pricey though).

If you LOVE Beckwith Pointe, just address any concerns you may have with them to ensure that if you have your wedding there, things will be as close to perfect as they can be.

Good luck.

Hi. I actually went to my cousin's wedding there and liked it. The views are beautiful. I agree that the CH food was good, not superb and the divider did take away from the room, but I thought the dinner was pretty tasty and the hall on a whole was nice. The only one problem though was that some of the tables on the sides were kind of dark. I noticed one table seemed very dark and my parents felt the same way about their table. Otherwise, I liked it and I must say I did have a blast and enjoyed the wedding immensely. Good Luck!

I guess I am partial w/ Glen Island because I had my wedding there. I also heard the same thing about the food at Beckwithe. But always check it out anyway, you never know.

i agree. beckwith pointe had AMAZING views but that was all they really had on the plus side (but i didn't taste any food). The lobby area had a weird smell to it and the ballroom was small with low ceilings and very tight space. it seemed more like a place where you would have your parent's 50th birthday party or something like that......but the views are the best on the 'row'.

I went to my cousins' wedding there.....beautiful view but very tight rooms....service was horrible...we waited until ten to be serviced the main course!....& the food was nothing to rave about after the long wait!

Now I'm kinda bummed out! Sorry to hear everyone wasn't impressed with it.
We went to 2 tastings and thought the food was very good (even my very picky Italian Father). We loved the views and all the great photo ops around the grounds.

The room does have low ceilings but with the right flowers and candle light the ambience can be created. IMO they do have the best water view of all of Davenport Ave, but they aren't as modern as VIP or Glen Island.

Our DJ is very good friends with our BM and he got us a great deal, plus I know I will be in good hands b/c of that fact.

I've already addressed the concerns about the cocktail hour with him and he will make sure that no one will be able to enter the reception room until they are announced to.

I'm sorry, I just bummed that my reception hall is getting such bad reviews......now I'm sad

don't you worry ....I heard a couple of bad things about my reception site and I heard awesome ones too....think of it this way....everyone is different w different opinions....and the place has 'off' days too....someone could there on a sat and everyone is awesome while saun someone goes and it might not be as good......if u loved it and so did ur fiance and fam thats all that counts!

I have never posted before, but I found this website very helpful whle I was planning my wedding, so I felt that I finally had to post! I assure you that I am (was) a real bride!!! I also wanted to assure Tobewed07 that she made the right choice!!

I was married at Beckwith Pointe on June 24 of this year and I have nothing but great things to say about BP!! I visited / called approximatey 15 halls in Westchester and Nassau and ultimately went with BP for a variety of reasons. Jared was my BM and he was great to work with!!

To address some of the concerns: we heard nothing but great things from our guests about the food and service. All of the food that I ate that day was delicious!

As for the ceilings, they are low, but I used candleabaras and the room looked very nice. I didn't think the dance floor looked old or crappy.

I had 250 guests at my wedding and the room was the perfect size. However, I do think that it would start to get tight if you have more than 275 guests. We also had the entire place to ourselves. We guaranteed more people to assure that another wedding wouldn't be booked. This worked out well for us because it rained our wedding day so we had to have the cocktail hour entirely inside. Our guests kept telling us how great it was that there were enough tables and chairs for everyone to sit during the cocktail hour.

Overall, I had an extremely positive experience at BP and would recommend it. I hope this helped and if you have any concerns, feel free to FM me.

Thank you JuneBride!

You did make me feel at ease and confident in my choice...

Jared will be our BM as well and I LOVE him! He has been so nice to us!!

So far we are the only affair slated for that day and I hope that it stays that way.

I would love to see pics of your CP's and Candelabra's!!

Thanks again!!

Don't worry, it is such a personal choice. No reception hall is perfect. You have to find what is right for you and within your budget. I know how hard it is to find somewhere that has most of the things you want while being price conscious. I have already looked at 7 places and am now starting to look in Westchester.
