Thoughts on RSVPing to a website instead of

Thoughts on RSVPing to a website instead of

the RSVP with the invitation.

I know that a lot of the wedding websites that couples create can also handle the rsvp, where people can just go to the site and do it from there.

Yay or Nay?

i say nay, only because the internet is fallable. I think maybe an 'either/or' option is good... that way some can mail and some can do it on the internet...

It seems like a good idea, the only downside is you have to worry about if everyone has access to the internet let alone older people who aren't too familiar with the internet. I also agree with rissa.

I like the formality of the RSVP sent in the mail. Plus, a lot of people (grandmother especially) don't have a computer.

Definitely nay. How much money are you actually going to save doing that? Some money saving tips are worth it but I think this one just makes you look cheap.

I would say yes but think the old way is more reliable....although I have to say, for our e-party I gave the choice to rsvp my email or call and almost everyone used the email to rsvp.

nay. i like the formality of regular response cards for a wedding. internet is ok for a rehearsal dinner or e-party though. just my opinion....

plus, isnt it fun to keep checking the mail?

I say yay. My brother and his FW are doing it this way. They are going to have traditional invitations but people will RSVP through a website that they set up just for this purpose. The website will also be linked up with Fortunoff which is where they are registered. I think this is a great idea though I am not sure if it saved them any money on postage, etc. because they have to pay website hosting fee. That fee, however, is pretty small. So I say go for it if you like it.
