We are having a dove release after our ceremony at the church and I was considering throwing bird seed instead of rice, but don't know if thats a good idea or not because I don't want it to go all over everyone and it'll probably get in my hair with my luck....anyone have any input?..thanks

You must check with your church and or venue as alot of places don't allow tossing it (or anything for that matter due to slipping and clean up issues etc..)

I am only allowed birdseed and I'm very upset about that because I really wanted rose petals , but you should def check with where your ceremony is to make sure what they allow.

agree with the girls. Lots of churche\s are very strict on what you can and can't do.
I feel like I can't do anything at mine LOL... NO aisle runners, birdseed, rose petals, rice.

honestly, i really don't love the idea of bird seed being thrown .... i just think it's weird .....
but to each her own

bil/sil had bird seed at their wedding and it got in her hair and down her dress! she had a sunflower seed imprint on her chest when she took the dress off
eta: people tend to chuck that stuff at you so you have to keep that in mind too!

Bird seeds sounds really messy to throw. There is a high possibility that they will end up in your hair! Maybe you should consider something else unless you absolutely have to do it.

I love the bubbles idea!
I never understood the rice tradition, but I heard a lot of places banned it because animals can choke on it (and it's hard to clean up).

My FSIL got married at the same church as I will be and she used rose pedals... I will prob do the same, but i want my bparty to blow bubbles at us during our introduction into the RH! My mom did that (2nd marriage) and the pics came out beautiful
As far as bird seed - I'm not into it.. very messy and get stuck on everything

You also have to remember that depending where you are, the bird seed might actually attract BIRDS! That is not always the prettiest picture.

we are actually only allowed to throw birdseed, which we will not be doing bc I am scared of it getting in my hair and also bc i think its a bit weird, JMO.
