Yes, I've been to ceremonies where rose petals were thrown. They were thrown after the ceremony or as the couple exits the reception.

After the ceremony, ushers, BMs, GMs or other designated guests herded the guests out to the church door, making two parallel lines of guests. The bride and groom walked between the two lines and the guests threw the petals on them.

Similar deal for the reception. As you can imagine, it was near the end of the evening and folks didn't stick around much longer.

love FG dress #2 -- so cute!!

we thre petals at our wedding -- my pro pics are awesome!! just have to check with your church or RH about using them. a lot a places won't allow them. we had the photographer tell our guests no0t to toss the petals until we kissed, in pictures t was a perfect moment
