did anyone do this at their church? I havent asked my church, but im assuming they wont want the petals. im thinking ill play dumb and just have everyone take some from a basket? did anyone else do this? is this in bad taste?

Uh, I did it. I just filled the flowergirl's basket and played dumb. Although I got Ecofetti (biodegradable confetti) for the guests to throw. But I wasn't having the flowergirl throw that, she was the FLOWERgirl, after all.

our church says ONLY birdseeds allowed, but we're doing those sugar hearts..
I guess we'll see how that turns out in a few days...

No one mentioned to me no rose petals thrown? Since when is this not allowed? Why have a flower girl w/o the flowers? All they told me was bird seed was not allowed to be thrown it's dangerous.

ugh... i think youre right.... im not talking about the petals INSIDE the church, i mean outside as we are leaving. im not doing petals inside as that is DEF not allowed - no one mentioned outside though

BTW, I wasn't in a church, I was outside at the RH. I wasn't going to throw non-biodegradable 'silk' petals outside, so I got freeze-dried petals which were very unlikely to suddenly soak up enough moisture to become slippery. (Which is why they said no rose petals.) If a church told me no petals inside, I would not have done it.

You need to ask if it's allowed. You never know, it might be.
If they're not, though, you really should respect that rule.

I dont remember asking about it, but i think it was actually mentioned to me by the priest that i could do it, so i did it.
i know you can't do it inside but i always thought outside was fine.
if you were specifically told no, i would not do it, but if you dont know then go ahead and do it.

I would ask... My church when the priest booked us gave us a packet what to expect with the engagment process in the catholic church and the rules of the church ~ He asked that we please respect and obay there rules... We have things for the videographer, photographer in it specifically we have no rice, petals etc... they did not mention bubbles ~ so we are doing bubbles!

my sister got married in a chirch, they told her nothing thrown inside, and as for outside, birdseed only. she threw rose petals and then had someone sweep them up before we left the church, so it was completly cleaned up, it looked funny but they said nothing.. FYI -this was not arranged prior to doing it, so i'm not sure if i suggest it...
