Thursday Night Wedding?
That's tough. I went to a wedding on a Thursday night last July. I think most people stayed until the cake was cut which is normal since a lot of people leave after that regardless of the day. I also understand your concern which is why I stayed with a weekend wedding. I did a Sunday evening of Memorial Day weekend which lowered costs plus everyone has off Monday. All of the RH's lowered costs even more for Sunday afternoon. Would you be willing to do an afternoon wedding? If so, look into a Sunday afternoon of a holiday weekend!

I would be open to that, but our only thing is we want to get married on a 26th of the month - its our special thing, we started dating 3/26 and got engaged 6/26 so we wanted to stay with the '26' theme... which is why i keep going back to Thanksgiving Eve... since its a Wednesday its so much cheaper and most everyone has off the next day

What if you got married on Memorial Day itself in the afternoon? It's a Monday afternoon (5/26/14). Everyone will be off that day and you don't have to worry about people leaving early.

Re: Thursday Night Wedding?
I know just from certain clubs on Thursdays or even Tuesdays (body english!) people can def still have fun and party even if they have work the next day. BUT that's for anyone usually in 20s-30s. anyone older might want to be home and in bed by 10 pm :( or they might make an exception.

I'd be nervous about the prom thing. I know it doesn't seem like a big deal, but it could wind up affecting you with certain vendors or even halls. I like the 5/26 idea! Holiday weddings seem so fun, and I like the idea of a day wedding in the Spring.

I went to a Thursday night wedding and it was less lively than a Friday or Saturday night one. But it could have just been the group of people.

IMO - Thursdays are tough for people. I would stick to a weekend. It's a once in a lifetime event and you want people to enjoy it so that you enjoy it. If you want to cut the price a little how about a Saturday afternoon? April 26 or July 26. Or Sunday Oct 26th...You could choose a place with a great outdoor area.

Yeah Proms are done by the middle of June so you would be safe. i would go to a Thursday wedding! It would be fun. Although Thanksgiving Eve rocks girl! Biggest party night of the year so your wedding would be a hit! I know someone who did that and not one person RSVP'd no! LOL

Thursday Night Wedding?
I'm a teacher and I would disagree with that. I know that I had my prom June 25th and many public schools have it the Friday or thursday before graduation, which is usually the last weekend in June because Regent exams don't end until the 22nd or around there.

Thursday Night Wedding?
Yea, if the places pointed it out to you, I'm sure it is. I wouldn't want high school kids to be around during my wedding either lol. But if you go to a place that has only 1 wedding at a time it would be better. The only issue I could see would be limos.
Thursday Night Wedding?
Yes, I think Memorial Day is a good idea or Sunday afternoon.
