Thursday QOTD

Here I am on the phone with my vendors and I just realized that I forgot to write a QOTD...oops!

How do you divide the roles and responsibilities of your household for the two of you? Do you have set chores so to speak or do you both pitch in when you can? Do you have a cleaning schedule? Does one person pay the bills or do you both do your own thing? I'm curious how this all works out in everyone else's household.

wel we dont live together no..we will in 2 months lol...but i know im lucky in that fh likes to clean like me..so i know he wont hav a prob cleaning or doing dishes cause he does it now at his own house...only thing he does not do is cook and that fne by me cause i love love to cook and would loveto make dinner every day

as for money..after paying for this wedding we wont have any so it wont be a factor

We don't live together yet, but we did discuss it. I will be doing most of the cooking and cleaning, manage the money. He will do any and all yard work/fix-it stuff (provided we have a yard or things we own to actually fix), assist with cooking on his Fridays off and weekends, and laundry if and only if we end up renting and it requires going to a laundromat or laundry service area at night, because I'm too paranoid and freaked to do that myself.

I definitely will have more responsibilities, it looks like I got the fuzzy end of the lollypop!

I pay the bills because I am a control freak and he is always late with everything!

Cooking and cleaning is split between us.. we don't have a schedule just help eachother out. He works nights (12-8am) so alot of times Ill come home at 6pm to find dinner ready for me. Love it. He also cleans alot on his days off and I clean on the weekends.. we have a good thing going.

We do have what I call 'man jobs' - man jobs include taking out the garbage.. fixing anything.. killing bugs.. haha..

I actually dont mind doing all the cleaning and laundry and all that... it makes me feel like a little housewife! (that is what i strive to be a housewife/ stay at home mom...never going to happen...but a girl can dream!!) i do the cleaning of the apt from top to bottom usually once a week. altho if im running around and dont have time FH will do it for me! hes actually better at doing dishes! because i grew up with always having a dishwasher so i let them pile up from time to time!
FH is more the rearranger and organizer! one day i came home one day and he completely organized our closest!! it was great!

i like to take care of the bills! im better at finances and stuff then he is, but occasionally he will do it....i ususally have it all done and paid when he goes to think about it.

FH's duties that i hate and try not to ever have to do...Take out the garbage! and clean out the drain in the sink that gets all the nasty food, that is sopped up with water and soap...he throws that out for me, because it makes me gag! lol

ooh and FH cooks! he is a chef so im pretty set right there! altho sometimes i wish he wasnt so good at it, cuz makes me feel like i will never be able to cook a good meal only cuz ive never really had to! mom always did the cooking until i moved out, then FH took over! haha! i got a ton of cook books from my shower! so im going to start as soon as we are officially married! lol

We don't officially live together but he's at my apt almost every night. He usualy vaccuums and I do the rest of the stuff (after all it's my apt). However, he's very self-sufficient and will clean up after himself in the kitchen, whatever.

As far as money is concerned, right now we have 4 accounts. We each have our own where we manage our own bills, etc. There's a savings account for the wedding and there's a savings account for the house. Both of those accounts are joint accounts. FH loves going to the bank, so I just give him money to deposit and he takes care of it.

I do the majority of the cleaning, but FH does help. I do the food shopping and laundry, he takes out the garbage. One of my biggest pet peeves is making the bed. So if he leaves after me and it hasn't been made because he's still in it, he'll make it. As far as paying the bills I do everything except for his personal bills, car, insurance and credit cards. We haven't joined accounts yet so that's all still separate.

He works for a food service company...and use to work at a restaurant in floral park part time...occassionally he does small catering jobs too!
It is nice dont get me wrong! and he is amazing at it! just very imtimdating when you have a chef for a boyfriend/fiance/husband and i got to try and cook and its no where near as good! lol
I like to bake...he doesnt!! so im good there!

Aww....but I bet even if you cook for him, no matter how it turns out he will love it! But I understand the intimidating part!

FH does 95% of the cooking, and cleans the kitchen. I clean up the rest of the apartment and do the laundry… I think I totally made out on that deal.

FH pays the bills, because we’re basically living off of his check and saving most of mine for the wedding.
