Re: Thursday Weddings
FSIL got married on a Thursday in December at Fox Hollow. I think the church was at 3pm and quite honestly she didn't have much of a turn out. I think she had a good response for the reception but most people bolted right after cake was served, in fact the DJ closed with NY, NY and on the video you can see that there were only about 15 people left
We didn't care, we took a room next door. I think you have the same problem with a Sunday night which is what I'm having. My philosophy....if people want to come celebrate with you they will no matter what and the rest can $crew themselves! You can't make everyone happy.

Re: Thursday Weddings
I never have, but only because I have never been invited to one. But I would have tried my best to go.I think you might be ok during that week; it seems to me like a lot of people take that week off, especially if they have kids. Since the next day is New Year's Eve, there might be people who have off or only have to work a half day. Some may find it a great way to begin celebrating the new year early!

Re: Thursday Weddings
I've heard that Thursday weddings are becoming really popular. I haven't been to one yet, but my friend was.

Re: Thursday Weddings
Thursdays are becoming very popular. It are usually the night for Black tie affairs...ecspecially with rich people and City affairs. People who love you and care with make it regardless of the day.

Re: Thursday Weddings
I got married on a Thursday and I had a great turnout. I kept it small (115) but in the grand scheme of things, the people most important to you will be there even if it's on a Monday. I have no regrets having it on a Thurs and everyone had a great time. It was lively till the very end.
