Ok, since I will be snowed in today, I thought I'd do some ebay shopping
How does one go about picking out a tiara and a veil if they dont have the dress to match it with? My gown is a Maggie 'Bethanie' in diamond white and champagne. The beading is sworzki sp? crystals. I tried on a tiara or two in the bridal shop and noticed that the gold tone looked the best and the tool viels didn't really go with the dress since it is organza.
So how do I pick these things if I couldn't even find a headpiece when I was actually IN the store staring at them? Do you just take pot luck buying off line and then wait until three months before the wedding (when the dress is coming in) to try them on together and HOPE that they look right?
How did you ladies do it?

I'm in the same predicament, but you are actually better off than me. I didn't try on any tiaras when I tried on my dress so I really have no idea what works.
I'm actually about to go veil and tiara shopping now. I have an idea of what type of veil I want. I'm bringing a picture of me with my dress and a color swatch. I will talk to the veil and tiara designer and see what works.
Oh, my dress is off-white so I think that's close to diamond white??? I was looking on E-bay last night. Basically, I would just buy something you like and you think would work. Or maybe you can go into a store that has your dress and try things on again?

Doesn't it have to match the dress? Doesn't it have to look right on your head? How can you possibly order this online?

interesting that you should post about this today. I was just trying on my ebay swarovski crystal tiara and my ebay swarovski crystal headband. I bought both (under $20) and can't decide which I like best.
I do already know they will both match the dress though.
I like them both.
ETA - pay no attention to my attempt at an updo. My normal hair appointment would have been today (in the blizzard).
ETA 2 - I did try on tiaras with the dress (and veils) so I kind of knew the style I wanted when I checked ebay. I only got the headband style because of the type of veil I want.

Yeah, I think the headband will work better too. I will keep them both though just in case.

They also make organza veils and just to add to your problem, are you sure you want a tiara? I tried them on but my head is so small, I looked like a little kid playing dress up.
I am going with hairpins instead that I bought from a wonderful bride on here!!!

I got my veil from veilshop.com. They can send you swatches if you go to their website and request some. They also sell on ebay I think.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I felt like that when trying dresses - like I was just playing dress up.
I'll keep both and decide at hair trials. I'm not sure I'd do hair pins? My hair stylist is attending my wedding so I can change up my hair a little with either the headband, tiara or maybe hair pins.

I'm not ready for this step yet, but I plan to ask the bridal salon to show me veils and tiaras that would go with my dress and then buy something as similiar as possible on Ebay(if possible).

Bethani is my dress too!!! I got my tiara when I bought my dress...I will try and find the designer/style or a picture to send you. Only difference is my dress is white/pewter, not champagne. But crystals will be the same, so it might help.
