Do I need to purchase these before my first fitting? My gown isn't coming in till September, but I was just curious. I know I will need shoes and under garments by then, but do I need these or anything else too?
I would have them available for your 1st fitting becuae if you decide that its not the look you want you can change it and still have time to see how it will look at your 2nd fitting
No, you dont need them but it would be good to have everything so you can try it all on together and see how it looks.

If you can match them up without having the gown in yet, then yes, go for it so you can see the whole look together and then make changes if you need to. But you don't *have* to have them in time for the first fitting.
