Hey ladies! I had this idea to order extra yards of BM dress material to have ties made up for the guys to wear with their tuxes. Is this insane?
The dress I am considering is by Bill Levkoff, and it has a pinstripe detail on the whole thing. I absolutely love this dress.. the stripes (thin!!!) are pink, lavendar and a light green. It has a preppy feel to it, and I would like to carry that over to the tuxes to make them look less formal. Also, if anyone knows who or where to go to get ties made please let me know Thanks!

I know we spoke about this today...I think it would be a great idea to get the ties made...That dress is very pretty As I told you, I think any good seamstress can do it

That's a good idea. I'm going to have to do the same. My FH is obsessed with the color purple and wants to wear a purple tie. Luckily, I want a purple/lavendarish color for my BM dresses. I'm going to need to get materials so we can make sure they match as closely as possible. I'm also thinking of doing a 'Shades of Purple' theme and have different shades of purple incorporated into the flowers, cake, centerpieces, etc.

here is the dress...you can't really see the colors...I went with Erin yesterday to try the dress on & it was beautiful

I am really loving this idea of a 'Preppy' wedding... I think the thin stripes in the dress will be so cute. I just have to sell the idea to one of my sisters and we're done! Brian really liked the idea of matching the ties.. I thought maybe he wouldn't like it.. too dorky.. etc. But he likes the idea of making the tux look more 'suity'... a nice crisp suit, all with the same tie... nice! Now if I can get the Photographer to take a picture of him teeing off on the 18th.. he'll be happy as a lamb!

I'm partial to preppy, but then again I always have been:) I'm really glad you like them... I talked to Katelyn tonight and she said they are growing on her.. but if we use that dress she is demanding everyone have the same shoes! lol... and she said NO DYEABLES..... I'm not sure again whose wedding this is... .hehe

My SIL did something like this. She had each of her BMs in a different color and our escorts/groomsmen were in coordinating ties. It was a Fall wedding, so it made sense. Anyway, she did an awesome job matching it up. If you want to know where she went for the ties, FM me and I'll get the deets from her.

I can only imagine the shoes that Katelyn wants us to wear She is too cute, she is excited her sister is getting married!!! They say the groom's always give a hard time, in your case, it is the sister
I really think the preppy look with tie in well with your entire wedding...It is very suitable!
