Time between church and reception

Our reception starts at 7 so we made the church for 3...will that be too much time in between for guests? Our wedding is on a Fri so it gives those that can't get off from work time to make the reception.

Would you change the church time to 330 maybe? We'd like to get our pictures done in between so that we can attend cocktail hour too
If the time is fine the way it is, where would your guests go/do? We have to arrange a shuttle for everyone to get to the reception from wherever they go.

Time between church and reception

That's exactly our timeline. We couldn't change it even if we wanted to. Church was either 3 or 5 and 5 would be cutting it too close and we wouldn't be able to take pics in between. It is what it is and I can't do anything about it, which is what I'll tell anyone who dares complain to me. #bridezilla

Time between church and reception

I have the same timeline and I was worried about it too... But oh we'll. I want to get married in a church so that's how the cookie crumbles. You will have lots of time for pics that way!

Time between church and reception

We have the same timeline…I suppose it's just the way it happens when you get married in a church. In the end, it will all be perfect!

Time between church and reception

It'll be fine, we just went to a wedding that had this timeline and we went to check in to the hotel after the church and freshen up before heading over. Some people grabbed a quick bite to eat. People figure something out.

Time between church and reception

Mine is similar. Church at 3 and cocktail at 6:30. I was very nervous and thought about making more time in between but everybody keeps insisting it's plenty of time to get pictures done and make it to cocktail hour. I'm only doing a ceremony not a full mass. And as far as what people are doing in between I don't know! I guess there'll be time for people to go back home. I don't know

Time between church and reception

We have church at 2:30 and cocktail at 6, and couldn't change it if we wanted to as well. That's the latest we could have the church and the earliest we could do the reception. I think you've got just the right amount of time!

Time between church and reception

I have the same timeline and it works out great. I don't have to rush during my pictures and could enjoy my cocktail our with my guest.

Re: Time between church and reception

I don't think that's bad. I've never been to a wedding where the ceremony was at a church and there wasn't a few hours in between.

Re: Time between church and reception

Church is at 2 for us, and then 7pm cocktail hour starting time. It was the best timing for us because in late October, the sun goes down earlier and we wanted decent picture time, no rush rush. You do what's best for you. The guests can fend for themselves. We have had to do that plenty of times in the past and we lived, lol.

Exactly this. People figure something out. As you get closer this is going to be one of those details that you're like, I can't even care about this.
