why do people think you have to spend alot of money to have a good time?? I am cheap and i want to have a nice wedding but i can not see spending 40 or 50000 that i DO NOT have for my wedding. Alot of people keep saying oh well your only paying this much you better be careful cause it might not be so good.....or why dont you splurge on a HM suite for your HM why go so cheap....adn blah blah blah. I am lucky we will be able to pay off our wedding at the price it is right now!!! Its at about 19,000 and i was very proud of myself for the deals i got! I am so sick of hearing from some family and friends and other people ' well be careful you get what you pay for!' Its so untrue!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have seen the work of my vendors and researched very carefully! i wouldnt just book something cause its cheap!! I look at it as being smart! i do not want to start me new life in debt from this wedding! It just bothers me! yea i wish i has the $$ to invite 300-400 people and splurge on everything but ya know what....I am doing this for us NOT for our guests!! so many people make the whole wedding about the GUEST! what the GUESTS want. I am not doing that! If they dont like it then oh well sorry! ug!!! it just drives me crazy!!! Thanks for letting me vent!! i dont do it too often and it feels so good when i do lol!!

why do you let it bother you... you know what you are getting for your money and that is all that matters.
My brother can be like that and i just remind him that i will not be in debt and he will. but then i let it go.
Dont worry about what other people say. Your wedding is going to be beautiful and it is what YOU want!

Wow ...that sounds like exactly how i feel....Your wedding is going ot be gorgeous ....You will be a beautiful bride ...and have an amazing day......I have alot of the same vendors and I think alot of what they do are better then other vendors and much cheaper ......I spent yesterday really down on how the wedding is going to turn out ...going so far as to say I dont want a white trash wedding......FH has now banned me from watching platinum weddings lol.....You are being smart and economical .....Dont let people get you down!!!

My OWN FSIL asked me who was paying for what and how much and yada yada yada. I just didn't answer her, I just left an uncomfortable silence between us.
I'm sorry you have people telling you this crap, just answer them the way you answered us - that you researched and did your homework and frankly it's none of their business - besides how do these people know that you spent less money on these things? God. Stupid people.

I completely understand. First I have my mom telling me be careful with what you are spending make sure you have your budget. I KNOW MOM!! but then she gets mad when I said we can't invite everyone in her office (she is a nurse at a small doctors office and htere arent alot of people who work htere) because we dont want to have to pay for all these extra people we dont know...then she says Oh I will pay for them= YEAH RIGHT
But then I got FBIL telling us oh well dont get scammed in the photography/videography planning. Because they had to pay 800$ extra on top of their $8500 photographer. So I told him oh dont worry we got a really good price and wonderful photographer. And when I told him hte price he was like WHAT thats all there has to be something wrong with him- he might not be good at all...UM ITS VELVET STUDIOS- THEY ARE AMAZING...
And then I have my best friend who whines that if she doesnt get atleast a 2 carat engagement ring she is going to be sooo sad...
PEOPLE just dont realzie how much things costs when planning a wedding and it bothers me as well we are keeping a realistic budget and we are still getting everything we want but not going crazy with having all these extra...which is fine to me!!

YEAH FBIL was grilling FH the other night asking him how much stuff is costing us and how much we have saved...and stupidly enough FH tells him how we have a decent amount saved and he was like *** how do you have that much saved etc and also well even though you have that much saved how are you paying for this blah blah and i was likejust because you decided to use credit cards for everything and still paying crap off and decided to have a 75000$ wedding and buy a house at the same time and are now living paycheck by paycheck dont get mad at us....

I am on a budget and I got amazing deals and I know my wedding is going to be AMAZING and fun and I am going to have a blast. I don't think you need to spend a fortune to have a good wedding. Yeh it would be awesome to spend 10,000 on a dress like its nothing but then again its for ONE day and I have seeeeeen such beautiful dresses for 2,000 and under.
