'Time of the month' question...

I think I am going to have my friend for not only our wedding day but also our honeymoon. My cycle has changed over the last couple of months probably b/c of stress. Does anyone know any thing the doctors can do to maybe alter my schedule?

I used to be on B control to regulate it cause they were so far apart. You can start now taking the pills now and offset the date like a week before your wedding.

If you are on BC you can double up. What I mean is on BC the last week you have your period go to the following months pills. Mine are pinkish for the first 3 Weeks, the last is almost whitish. I didn't take the whitish and started another pack of pinkish. I hope that helped!

Try to talk to your gyno. I have the same problem and she said we could alter my cycle. Next time I have an appt, I'll ask her how.

I actually altered my cycle months in advance...(with the ok from my doc that all was fine!)...

what i did was to start my new pack of pills one day early each month...so i would take the 3 weeks of hormone pills...and instead of 7 days of placebos, i took 6 days...thereby altering the time i got it to a week difference. hope this makes sense..it didn't do anything different to my body whatsoever, just made me get my 'friend' at a diff time.

if you're on the pill, dont take the placebo pills, just start the next pack.
that's what my gyno told me to do!

Go on birth control and take the 'active' pills straight through til your next period. It's not harmful to do that ocasionally. I've done it before.

If you are on the pill, you have some choices. You can either not take the placebo for a month, which for me, it felt like my 'friend' was coming, but never actually did.
Or if you still have a few months, you can take the placebos a few days (2-3 days) early, to bump forward your 'friend'. Do this a few times and you can advance your time by a week or so, hopefully missing your wonderful day and entire HM!

Of course, talk to your Dr first.

Good luck!

I'm gonna have my period for the wedding... not for the honeymoon though... I would talk to your doc and ask him about BC if you aren't on them already.. look at a calendar and see when the best time of the month is for you to start.

BC regulates you really well!

GOOD LUCK!

You can talk to your doctor about 'seasonale'. If you take it, you only get your period 3 or 4 times per year. For me, my monthly visitor will be just finishing the day before the wedding. Perfect timing!

The placebo is when you get your period. 3 weeks out of the month you are taking hormones that mimic ovulation and the placebo pills (usually the different colored pills) are just that - a placebo with no hormones inside. It may take a while for your body to get used to the birth control but ultimately they should make your cycle more regular.
