Has anyone put any thought into how much time you'll be taking off of work? (Obviously if your wedding is in the summer and you're a teacher you'll have all the time in the world) I get 2 weeks vacation every year and unlimited sick time (unless it's abused) How many days before the wedding is normal to take off? I'm thinking between time off before the wedding, HM etc I could quite possibly use my full 2 weeks Do i really want to do that??
Any ideas?

I was just talking to my mom about this, this morning! I get 2 weeks vacation, and 5 sick/personal days. But the thing is I cant take off 2 weeks, like i cant use both weeks back to back. Office policy or some crap like that....So My honeymoon is limited to a week, and i think i'll just use one sick day, the day before the wedding. And since my wedding is on a friday, I guess I'll have to use 2 sick days lol Idk, I think my boss might be a little more leanient (sp??) considering i'll be there over 3 years by that point, and I know hes accomodating a few other coworkers with their vacations. So i guess I'll use 2 sick days (day before, day of) and then maybe 10 vacation days for the HM... Sorry I ended up rambling lol

I'm getting married Thanksgiving Weekend. The college I work starts their vacation that Wednesday. SO I have 3 days before the wedding off to begin with. I might take that Tuesday but not sure yet.
As for the HM. I'm not sure if we're going to do it right away or wait til January. We plan to take 2 weeks. I know it wont be a problem with my job, just curious if it would be with FHs.

I also don't get a lot of time off...can't take more than a week at a time either... I'm thinking that I'll take like, two days off before...though, I know it won't be enough!!! and then the week following is the honeymoon, Monday to Sunday. That Monday after though, is President's day, so, I'll have one bonus day to chill out after getting home...

I'm hoping I can take 2 weeks, so that I have a day or so before the wedding, the week for the hunnymoon and a couple of days to settle in when we return, I'm hoping

Since my wedding is on a Sunday I will probably just take the Friday before off and then 2 weeks after the wedding. I think I counted a total of 13 days all together. That would put me back to work on a Wednesday. I was thinking about just taking off a total of 15 days and going back to work on the Monday but I dont know what we want to do yet. It all depends if we decide to stop in Vegas on our way home. Between sick days, personal days and vacation days I get a total of 24 days so I should be ok.

I want to take off 5 days before my wedding. I am going to be extra good at work so I can take 2 months off for vaca/hm, FH has 2 months off automatically bec he is a teacher , lol

i would really love to be able to take off for 2 weeks after the wedding. maybe all the overtime i accumulate during tax season i could take off in time?!?!?!?!?! i don't want to use my full 2 weeks b/c that leaves me with nothing for the rest of the year. that would stink!

Since we are getting married on a Sunday, I don't plan on taking anytime off before the wedding. I might leave my office an hour or so earlier that Friday, but I'll have all day Saturday to do stuff. Following the wedding we will have 2 full weeks. We will only have to take 9 vacation days because Columbus Day is the day after our wedding and we're both off. I'll still have extra days in the year to use for vacation and personal time.

I am planning to take 2 weeks off after for the HM. That is all the vacation time I have for the year but def worth it. I may take half a day or maybe the full day before...haven't decided yet.

I will probably be using up close to all of my vacation time. As of now I plan on taking Thurs and Friday before off and then at least two weeks after. My only saving grace is we can carry over vacation days so I have been very careful with mine this year and I travel A LOT for work so I get some of those days back when I am gone over a weekend. this is when I wish I was a teacher!
