time off before wedding?

time off before wedding?

How much time are you/did you take off before the wedding?

I don't even have a job yet (finishing my Masters in May and hopefully an elementary teacher in September!), but as a teacher, can't imagine taking a week off beforehand to prepare for the wedding, though that would be nice.

Am I crazy to think that taking off Friday before my Saturday wedding (possibly the Thursday) would be sufficient?

There's a possibility I'll be living in MD at the time, too.

I live in NC so I am flying to NY the Saturday before my wedding so I have a week to do some last minute things, make programs, pack up oot bags, etc.

We are getting married on a Sunday so I will be talking thurday, Friday the week before and then 2 full weeks after the wedding. I get 4 weeks vacation and plan to use as much time as I can. Unfortunatly FH only gets 2 weeks so he will work the entire week befre the wedding... but lets face it I will need more 'prep time' then him.

I'm a teacher so I'll have a little over two weeks off before the wedding. That;s why we planned it that way.

I am taking a week off before the wedding.
But I am flying in from Los Angeles, so I have to go get the marriage license, get my dress steamed and pressed and a million other things in that week.

Our wedding is Sunday 4/30/06 - I took off every Friday in April, and then the Thursday and Friday before the wedding....

I would at least take 2 or 3 days off before the wedding.

The company I work for now is relocating so my last day here is June 1st (hopefully). I'll have about 10 days off before the wedding!

I didn't take any time off before (thought I had a Sunday wedding) and just planned accordingly.

Anything is possible.

I am very lucky in that I have vacation time coming out my ears. I am currently planning on taking off the entire month of October. Wedding: October 8
Honeymoon Plans:
Leave for Rome: October 11 or 12
Cruise departs Rome: October 16
Cruise returns Rome: October 31
Return to US: October 31 or Nov 1
Back to work: November 6 (maybe, November 3, but I doubt it)

Just to make you girls all sick, I will still have vacation time left after that.

FH on the other hand will only be taking off Friday October 6, and will be back to work either November 1, or 2, depending on what day we return to the US.

Re: time off before wedding?

My wedding is July 8, so both FH and I have Monday and Tuesday of the week before (July 3 and 4th) off. We're taking the rest of the week because it makes no sense to go back to work on Wednesday only to leave on Thursday. We're only really scheduling wedding related stuff on Thursday and Friday.
