Just a quick question.... Our wedding is at noon and that's exactly what we put on the invites. My MIL said we should have probably put a 1/2 hr. earlier so that people were sure to arrive on time. I didn't even think of it!
My FH and I aren't worrying about it too much...we feel that everyone is adults and if they can't be there on time...then so be it.
But did you guys list an earlier time, rather than the actual start time?

Re: Time on Invites
I contemplated putting an earlier time--especially since I am a stickler for punctuality, but in the end we put the actual time. I didn't want people thinking I was the one late!

Re: Time on Invites
I put the actual time, 12 noon.
Adults should be able to tell time and to know that if something is at 12 noon, it means 12 noon, not quarter to or quarter after.
What you tell your BP is a different story.

I wouldn't have thought to do it but the person we ordered the invites from suggested it so we did.

Re: Time on Invites
we put 1/2 earlier but only because were are getting married at the RH and they are having a 'hospitality 1/2 hour' with juice and danishes and stuff from 11-11:30.

Re: Time on Invites
There are two schools of thought on this. My banquet manager said go 1/2 hour early. Other brides have called my banquet manager an idiot. Bear in mind, we have a Friday evening wedding. I think I'm going to go with the actual time.

I didn't put the time earlier. I am always early or on time and I would hate to be lied to and be sitting around for an additional 1/2 hour. If someone's late it's thier loss!

Re: Time on Invites
I am getting married at our RH. Our BM advised me to put the hour as a 1/2 hour earlier. I will be following his advise seeing that our CH starts 30 min after the ceremony.

We are putting actual time. I am with everyone else that if the adults can't figure out to be there on time then it is their loss.

I am putting the actual time.
We're getting married in a church and I would hate it if some people arrived early and then had to wait an EXTRA 1/2 hour because I put an earlier time. If someone is late, there's nothing I can do about that. I know things happen. Also, what if for some reason I run a bit late? My friend was a 1/2 hour late to her ceremony because of traffic so imagine if she had put an earlier time on her invite - people would have been so upset.

Re: Time on Invites
We put a 1/2 earlier because we are having a Friday evening wedding and the ceremony start time is 5:30 at the RH. They will have beverage service for our guests starting at 5pm.
