Time Question

when did you figure out your wedding day timeline? this questions is specifically for brides that saw their FH before the ceremony....i still have no idea what time i should be ready (make up and hair), what time the photographer should come, what time flowers should be delivered, etc.....i guess this all depends on how early we can go to the RH to take pictures because as of now we dont have plans to go to a location.....im just wondering how long you waited to figure out what times to tell all your vendors to arrive....

Re: Time Question

Everyone tells me to talk to the photographer and he will give you a good idea of when to start taking photos.
my friend who works in the hotel biz is going to type up an itinerary for the day of, like she does for clients. Its prob a good idea since it will fly and I don't want to get stressed out.

what time is your ceremony?

Nicole, work backwards from your ceremony. If you are taking pics before the ceremony, figure out how long and write that down. Then figure out travel time, pics at home if any, getting dressed, makeup, hair, etc.

the ceremony is at 6 - we want to be done with pics by 5:30 so we have 30 mins to relax and so i can freshen up....AG told me awhile ago that she would like 2 hours to photograph me and FH - plus we are doing some pics with our parents and bridal party before the ceremony too - so i would like to get to JT at around 2:30-2:45 so that we arent rushed when we take our portraits - and i want to be done with pictures before our guests start arriving (which could be around 5:30).....the problem is im just not sure if JT will let us come there that early for photos - but its a friday afternoon so i dont see why not....once i get the okay from JT it will be easier to figure ou - i just didnt know if it was bad that i have no clue about times yet

Re: Time Question

Heres my timeline, it might be off by a few minutes. Since your ceremony is at 6, just add a half hour to everything, although your travel time may be different

8am- hair/makeup arrive
12:30- hair/makeup done
1:00 Photog, videog, flowers and DOC arrived
2:00-2:30- limos arrived
3:00- Arrive at park for pictures and seeing DH for first time
4:30 Arrive at Coral House
4:45- take pics
5:30 Ceremony

we're a morning wedding so I'm not sure if it'll help you but the ceremony is at 11:30. My hair person is coming at 5 (kill me) and my make up person is coming at 6. We're seeing each other for the first time at the hotel and we're starting pictures at 9:30 at the RH.

Re: Time Question

It depends how many people are getting hair and makeup, also if there coming to you or your going to them. My ceremony started at 5:00, and I had my hair person come at 9:00, and my makeup person showed up late at I think 10. It was just 3 of us getting both hair and makeup done. Then my 2 photographers came at 11, they both took pics of just me, then one went to DHs room ((we were at a hotel)), flowers came at about 11ish, don't exactly remember. DH and I saw eachother for the first time at 12, that was all set up for us. Then we started taking portraits at 1 and seriously we didn't get done till 4:30, then we all got settled into the limo and went over to the ceremony. then to the RH

yeah thats usually the norm - my FH said that he sees lots of bride and grooms at the RH a lot earlier than their ceremony taking photos (like he sees them doing pictures when he gets there to start setting up the DJ equipment) BUT thats at places in NJ, not all places are the same - i dont know how strict they are.....i could see it being a problem on a sat or sun when there are afternoon weddings still going on but not on a friday i havent called to ask yet because i am afraid

ETS: its december and its going to be cold - otherwise we would be going to a location for photos but chances are its going to be really cold, so that is why we figured instead of a location we could just do all the photos at JT - and i looooove my photographer so i want LOTS of time with her and i dont want to be rushed at all that day - and i want to have leeway in case any vendors are late
